I will be reappropriating the lads PS4 Please don’t fuck this up Just about to post this Salop I'm really looking forward to this. Good news is VV are the developed so should be in very safe hands. Have former Neversoft employees on the team from the original THPS 1 - 4 dev team.

I remember spending hours on this 20 or so years ago.
I was actually looking at getting a PS2 just to play the handful of classic games I like.
Silent hill was on PS store many moons ago briefly so managed to download that for the ps3.
It’s a shame they don’t do backwards compatibility

I went from PS2 to 360 so sort of in the Xbox eco system now, and their backwards compatibility with the Xbox One has been second to none.

My 20year old daughter used to spend hours on these she even brought herself a ps2 Christmas before last just to play Tony hawk games she’s quite excited over it If she has even a low end PC mate, she can download Thug Pro on PC which is the absolute definitive Tony Hawk experience if she still likes to play the games. It uses Tony Hawk’s Underground 2’s engine (can get the game on pirate bay or discord) and includes near enough every level and skater for the game, including fan made levels and skaters. Has a cracking online presence and servers are up all the time. I try and play often on it, be good have another Stokie on there, I could even set up an Oatcake server and with various modes, could be a good laugh.

Got all the classic modes, trick attack, graffiti, horse, combo attack etc... if anything it definitely kills time for a good hour or so.

It’s brilliant I’m a 10 year old again singing along to the soundtrack and doing impossible things on the game
It’s been so long since a game really lit me up like this

This remaster is a potential underdog for Game Of The Year
Yes, it is seriously that good. It has absolutely everything you'd want from a ground up remake.
Faithful gameplay (more akin to THPS3 - THUG2 but that is a good thing) Faithful physics engine Gorgeous visuals Excellent online multiplayer Leaderboards Extra goals for THPS1 Near enough the full move set from THPS1 all the way to THUG2 No Microtransactions
I'm currently 9th in the world on Xbox for speedrunning Warehouse in 30.5 seconds. Took me a ton of attempts to crack Top 10!
Genuinely, it's a staggering remake by Vicarious Visions, and after seemingly being a dead series has been revived. Got to be THPS3 DLC next year surely.

They’ve nailed the remake, definitely. I feel completely short changed by ps4 games, on the eve of the ps5 release. Gta5 and skyrim are ps3 games. I read somewhere they’re releasing gta5 for the ps5. Are they taking the piss? We haven’t had a proper gran turismo game for the ps4. Battlefield 4 was the last decent bf game and that’s a ps3 release. Call of duty is a joke now. Ps4 games have been all about in game purchases and no longer about a gaming experience.

Games like THPS are a rarity now. I do like the battle pass system for Modern Warfare, as it only keeps cosmetic items paid for rather than weapons like Black Ops 4. Sony have dominated the single player side of gaming, Xbox I’d say the multiplayer side. There is lots to be working on for both teams on next gen. Gran Turismo vs Forza i think will be a big one.

Nah mate it’s gran turismo sport. The career mode is virtually non existent. Gran turismo is all about buying and selling cars then modifying them in single player.

When Sony did the first release stream thingy, the first thing to hit the screen was the Rockstar logo, everyone lost their shit and then the GTAV logo appeared. So it's literally been released across 3 generations of console! Not sure if it will be a complete new game that you have to buy, or whether the PS4 version will simply transfer to the PS5, but it seems R* are rinsing it dry!

Resurrecting an older thread
Anyone played the upgraded version of this on PS5 or XSX/S? Came out a couple months ago.
Disappointed as the upgrade has nigh on killed the next gen online community. There is no cross-gen matchmaking, which is usually a good thing, but because THPS 1+2 had a niche fan base already, the lack of cross gen matchmaking has completely cut off those playing the next gen version with PS4 and XBOne and so you encounter the same knobs who enter onto Jams mode when they should quite clearly be playing on Ranked. Unfortunately I'm in that awkward bracket where I'm better than Jams scores but not quite good enough for those high end Ranked scores yet. Really needs some sort of skill based matchmaking, not often I prefer that over connection based.
Might go and replay THPS3 again.

A lot of it is down to remembering your combos and just muscle memory, I played THPS religiously so when it came to getting on this it was quite easy for me. If you can get a bit of time in, you’ll see quickly how much you can improve, and this game is extremely user friendly which helps.

It's finding the time that's the big issue!
Here is a run I did of Warehouse in 30.5 seconds, though my quickest is 29 seconds (recorded but not posted online yet), there is someone on the leaderboards with 23 seconds!
And School II in 1:00
All this was during step one of the lockdown roadmap, so free time was in abundance after finishing work

Brilliant! Made me realise I'm never going to have enough time to play it properly!
