The merciless emotional blackmailing & tagging of C19 by companies, banging out their adverts on TV is cynical even by their standards. Vulgar! McDonalds, Fairy, Sainsbury’s... They’re all at it.

Pre Lockdown daytime TV continually had adverts for funeral plans and life assurance for the older generation.
Don’t seem to see them so often now. ?

They are still there but maybe not in the same number along with ads for little blue pills (see erectile dysfunction) neither of which I require I might add.😁

Life Insurance and Viagra seem to be the daytime norm.
Am now insured for 27 million quid and have somewhere to permanently hang my bobble hat. The ads had no effect on me.

I think the issue must be with the sheer proliferation and extent of the advertising slots that are active and broadcast at all times of the day.
If a TV programme on a menu is scheduled for say an hour, from 8-9, and you select that prog for viewing, you would think that if you turned to that listing there would be a fair chance of immediately picking up the programme content. In reality though the probability that you will get adverts when you tune in to that channel is not only extremely irritating but unbelievable in respect of its all pervading nature. In practice it seems that whenever you turn on a channel, no matter when or at what time, you will get adverts, and priority is given to them. Even the BBC has persistent series trailers or repeated clips on health crisis coverage.
Personally I loathe the Haribo sweet adverts that present adults speaking in ridiculous dubbed childlike voices.

Erectile Dysfunction. Every five bloody minutes on Quest!!. What do Quest show other than the EFL and shows about restoring tanks? Moderately interesting car stuff and Abandoned Engineering. It could be improved by getting rid of that wide boy Brewer. Seem to end up on it while channel hopping. It's that or endless repeats of Columbo/Poirot.

Sipsmith Gin voiceover- is it Julian Barrett or Alexander Armstrong? Mr. Swan, voiced by British comedian Julian Barratt. Whoever he is.

If we're on to the classic adds there must be so many, but I think the last time there was a national poll the Hamlet cigar adverts came out well ahead.
Happiness.
