Coming back to the here and now.......if we we have to play the last few games behind closed doors after the break will we avoid relegation?
No Allen remember and no home crowd to make the home games partisan? Could we still go down!
Thoughts?

People are dying at an alarming rate, our government have failed us and our frontline NHS staff are exposed on a daily basis.
If at the end of it all we go to Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley next season then so be it.

Other teams near the bottom may also have to play with no home crowd
+ our g/f is far superior to those around us, so to answer your question
Yes, we will

I wonder who the three for the drop will be as some teams were on a terminal decline like Hull but I think there will be some shocks and hoping we won’t be one of them!

It could well come down to which teams adapt to playing crucial games in empty stadiums. I think we need to win 3 & probably draw 1 to survive.

You would imagine the form table will go out of the window.
Could be a bit of a lottery.
I think its a very ambitious plan to start the season again anytime soon.
What happens if a player, a member of staff of one team gets the virus. Game off again for all?

I think the form table will go out of the window and feel more like the start of a season hence the concern.... I presume if only one player got the virus post start we would be back to square one?

I don't think there is an earthly this season will be completed, playing games behind closed doors would just be daft and likely break any distancing rules that prevail past the initial easing of lock down, and even if it were there are 7 teams below us.
Not a chance we will go down, however things are wound up.

Lot depends on the fitness levels of the players when they return.
I presume they are all given a strict training/diet/lifestyle regime to adhere to.
Then there is the question of how long will teams be given to allow them to train as a team once the isolation is over.
Same for refs and lino's.
I would guess that on a match day , not including stewards and gate staff, but purely directly involved in the game the non playing staff out number players by some margin.

We'll definitely avoid the drop if we resume the season. Under Jones I'm certain it would have been the opposite. We'd have been relegated for sure if he was still running the show.

Finally having two squads’ worth of players is going to be if it is with the games played over a condensed period of time.
We’ll be fine.

I know it's not the question but sat here right now. Asked if we will survive the only comment I can say is.
I'm not sure because I'm thinking will our Frontline staff get enough PPE.
I know it's good to try think about football but Testing and PPE is one of the most important thing to think about at the moment. I know it's good to distract and think about other things. Hard at the moment tho as I work in a hospital.
Just be to nice. We will survive 👍

Looks like the tv deal forces them to, which in itself is quite insane.

The papers are talking about the government planning a traffic light system to bring things back to life in stages. Starting with Green in late May which is some schools to return. And last of all Red which would be 'non-essential' things like pubs and bars and restaurants and concerts and sport. Surely 'Red' could not possibly commence before August and there are still 9 matches to play. Throw in the fact that the Open Golf in August has already been cancelled and there would need to be some kind of close season first I just don't see how it can happen. Unless we delay the start of next season. I think we would be best to try again with this season next season.

Yeah I mean there's a very good chance that we will continue a long way down the road, but i do think it'll be continuing this season's fixtures from what I've read. Sounds like they have contractual obligations that no one yet has found a way around, I always assumed there'd be some sort of insurance for this kind of thing but apparently not.

MON seemed to create a cohesive unit very quickly when he came in. Hopefully he can do it again when we restart and use it to our advantage.

One positive should be: we have a manager who has a track record of getting the best out of his players when he has not seen them for a while (Norther Ireland).

I read somewhere that the league will end early and there won’t be relegation from the Premier League this season, but the top 2 in the Championship will be promoted meaning for next season the premier league will have 22 teams as it was up to 1994/5. Same applies through the leagues meaning no relegation in any league but the top 2 being promoted.
Which means for next season, as in 1994/5, just two teams will be promoted from the Championship while 4 are relegated from the Premiership. Similarly 4 will be relegated from the Championship with just 2 coming up from League 1.
