Just found this on youtube - Huddersfield's season tickets advert for this season. Link hereIt's their centenary this year, I thought they were supposed to be skint?

Apparently I think they've already sold 10,000 season tickets.

£100 per season ticket, so its no wonder.
Doesn't put us to shame, so much as it puts Vale's paltry 6k to shame.

£100 per season ticket, so its no wonder. Doesn't put us to shame, so much as it puts Vale's paltry 6k to shame. Hardly, if anything Vale's sales put ours to shame, nevermind Huddersfield's. What was it, 7,000 we had in the Championship not long ago? We're hardly in a position to have a go at 6,500 or so sales in the bottom tier after the season they've just had.

We didn't sell STs for £100 or £130 though did we?
Unless you get a big response (like Huddesfield have) for heavily discounted STs they are totally unsustainable. Anything other than a promotion will see renewals at regular price tumble back to (more or less) what they were before. Our 12,500 @ £199 dropped to about 10,000 the following year if I remember correctly, meaning we only added about 2,500 new ST holders.

And neither did Vale... and I'd say tripling their sales is a big response.

My old man lives near Huddersfield and has bought a few season tickets with some lads at his work. He isn't a Huddersfield fan, but they thought for £100 feck it and bought a few to leave at work, then if anyone wants to go to a match or take their lad or whatever then they can use the tickets.
They're all people who never went to games before, and probably won't go to many even though they've got season tickets.
If Huddersfield think they're going to ram the Galpharm with this offer because it's their centenary then they're sadly mistaken. Once winter kicks in and the part timers start to wonder what all the fuss was about, the attendances will drop back to normal.
Then the club will find out that the increase in sales won't cover the decrease in income from the proper season ticket fans.
You've got to love the Terriers. Always fucking it up.

Their chairman is personally covering any losses they make from the campaign. It is undeniably a good thing for Huddersfield Town. Surely you don't honestly think they'll be getting 7-9k next season? Look at Bradford - a smaller club, in the division below, had a dreadful season and sold less STs than Huddersfield - and their lowest gate was 13k.

Personally, if Stan Ternant was installed at my club, I'd run up into the Pennines and shoot myself, nevermind by a season ticket.

I fount the advert amusing. Shows how desperate they are to sell seats Thats an extremely patronising statement. Lest we forget that c99.99% of the 17000 STs we have sold have been at HEAVILY discounted rates. How many would have bought them if the club had fixed prices at "typical" Premiership prices ..... Why not just simply applaud HTFC for their stance? They are a division one club who've had a torried time. They've discounted and have sold over 16,000 now. Not far behind PREMIERSHIP Stoke. My mate is a HTFC ST holder, if you think Stoke have had a rought time try following Town. Older poster will tell you that HTFC are "proper" club and have a history that puts Stoke to shame having won the league and cup many times. I wish them well, ditto Bradford who've done a simialr deal. People in glass houses ....! I'd rather hoped that Stoke fans would remain level-headed in the Premiership. Posts like this prove a large proportion have not. If we have a tough time next year and get relegated there is a decent chance Stoke might be in the same league as town. I wonder what you'd have to say on the matter then. * Although agree, cheesey advert !

My thoughts exactly GD. Since our promotion, there seem to be some fans that have got very big-headed about things. Funny thing is, everyone used to talk about the premier league attitude and how detestable it is, and yet some are adopting that very attitude now we've gone up. And as for the gloryhunters... Christ I'm sick of them already, God knows how I'll cope if I end up sat next to one. Won't be much to talk about once we've got past "£60million eh? Premiership football eh?"
