Any Premier League club who furlough staff should be immediately demoted to the Championship. Any business that furloughs lower paid staff while keeping higher paid staff on the payroll should be excluded from any taxpayer assistance.

Whilst any donations are very welcome Let's calm down this is 3% of what she paid herself last year When you are obscenely whealthy this will not be noticed If she had given half her years earnings that would be a magnanimous gesture. I am pleased she has donated but it is easy to be charitable when you get over 200 million per year! £300m paid, so about £150m in tax straight away, then she donated about £50m to charities straight away, so that's down to £100m and we don't know what happens to that, she may give more away. She's not some tax dodging Branson holding hands out for taxpayers money bail out. ffs. Not taking anything away from the generousity but the donations would be tax deductible so would reduce the tax she has to pay on the £300m and with regards to the £10m as I read it its from the DC Foundation so this is not a new donation but them 'spending' some of the money (100m+ from memory) they gave to the foundation a couple of years back, still a good use of the money.

Sad truth is they would just sack them then Betty the cleaner isnt going to cost £90m to replace, cut a players wages without agreement and they are entitled to a free transfer. I would rather they pay the people to keep them in jobs then hit them with some sort of tax when its all over to get the money back, 1% or 2% tax on transfers until they pay it all back should do it.

It's great that they have donated the money. Might well make some clubs look at themselves and there actions.

Anyone that critises this donation saying it's tax deductable, tiny % of her income, she will not miss it, blah blah blah, need to lighten up and get a fucking life.
Great gesture and more wealth people should take note.

its about time that this story made the headlines ,this has been a done deal since the 19th of march We should be so proud of what one of our own has done. Yes they own a very profitable business that some don't agree with but they took the risk to launch it and go way above and beyond for the local community. Not only do they pay their due tax (I suggest there are only a handful of others of wealth in the whole country who pay their dues), employ thousands in our city (remember a city that doesn't have that many well paid jobs), stick by their employees at the club (sorry can't comment on how they treat Bet 365 employees because I just don't know) but also seem really decent well rounded people too. Even back in the day remember how Peter Coates and the club stuck with Rory Delap when he broke his leg - look how that turned out. I know some think that their salary is obscene but its not their fault that their business is a success - at least they pay their taxes and put back into the local community and indeed still live within the localish area - another way of putting money back into the local economy. I've seen some say the £10m is only 5% of her salary but do you know anyone else who gives 5% of their salary away to charitable causes. I for one am so proud to come from the same city as such decent people - I don't think many actually realise how much they do - or how much easier they could make their life by not doing some of the things they do. I just wish Denise could put some of her hard work and obvious business acumen into the football club too.

There really are some fucking morons around. Despite the fact of what she earns, which she has worked bloody hard for, there unfortunately are those with the intelligence of a beetroot queuing up to ridicule her. Ten million pounds is a fantastic gesture to the NHS.

How about keeping the 2% tax on transfers and distributing it through the football pyramid Two or three grand would do a lot of good for a North West counties league club etc

It is gestures like this which change the rest of the country's perception of the owners, the city and the club.
It can elevate all of them to a new level down the line when we all evaluate what happened and who did the right thing.
Contrast it with the likes of Spurs, Norwich, Newcastle, and shitty horrible Bournemouth, those clubs will suffer for what they've done

Hopefully the philanthropy, personal integrity and loyalty to people will rightly preponderate the negatives in the collective consciousness when PC's legacy is appraised.
