Germany have said no football until the end of August at least, so that would rule out any European games that are in that country wouldn't it ?
This season is going to be null and voided, it makes sense all round, unless you are Liverpool

It will never happen but: They should scrap the premier league, championship, and leagues 1&2.
Have 4 groups of teams including 5 or 6 from the top 2 leagues in each group. And a mix of the lower 2 leagues.
Draw the groups every season. Top of each group would qualify for the champions league.
This would spread the money to the poorer clubs.
Have a compulsory 95% tax on foreign ( none UK / Irish) players and managers.
We need to reclaim football from foreign owners and TV networks.

My personal view In the lights if the chief medical officers comments re distancing and vaccine ,, Football is finished until August 2021 earliest , this will create the biggest structural upheaval in the game ever , players currently playing hard ball negotiating pay cuts will be made redundant by administrators at the drop of a hat , lower down clubs will fold and players disappear from the paid game forever .
The football authorities need to focus in this reality not deluded thoughts about finishing World Cup style in June 2020 .
From out point of view we are one of the few with owners able and willing to moth ball a business for this length of time painful as it will be it’s manageable within mother co .As a result I am somewhat unusually optimistic we will emerge as a beneficiary in football terms , the survival of the fittest will suit us , but big big clubs and small will go to the wall and owners of less means will be forced to dilute control and equity to a huge extent , some will be fine but even the likes of Liverpool , man united , arsenal with high debt and no income will face some material financial restructuring.

That's a change and a bit different from what government officials were saying last week, unless it's behind closed doors.

The PL will play without crowds no problem. In fact they probably prefer it that way.
After that though it becomes a massive issue because of income from ticket sales surely?
Unless they get a model that filters money down to the Conference at least then you can't have the system as it is now imo.

That's a change and a bit different from what government officials were saying last week, unless it's behind closed doors. I heard something like a maximum of 350 fans will be allowed into the stadium with players and staff regularly tested for the virus. A Danish club are setting up big screens on the car park so fans can watch the match from their cars. I can't remember where (Finland?), but another club are offering fans the chance to buy a cardboard cutout of themselves to stand inside the stadium.

As long as safety can be guaranteed, there is no reason why football should not resume, like any other business, once lockdown measures begin to relax next month.
Looks like the Bundesliga will resume in 2-3 weeks and Serie A is planned to resume at start of June.
It wouldn't surprise me to see English leagues resume in June also.
However, I think it is abundantly clear that no fans will be allowed and I think this may remain the same until the end of 2020/21 season with no mass fans allowed until August 2021.

What I don't understand, is what happens if a player in a team tests positive, dosen't he and all his team mates and coaching staff, then have to go into self isolation? What happens to those players who have got COPD or asthma anyway, you surely can't ask them to take part in the matches/training for the foreseeable?

You've also got managers, coaching staff, 4 officials, probably the odd security official and other sundry staff. Can the teams guarantee all those are virus free?

I think this is the now the only viable option, I note Cambuur who were leading the 2nd tier by 11 points will not be declared champions or promoted I dread to think how we would feel if we had been in that position and this is very ominous for Liverpool, West Brom, Leeds etc but encouraging for Bolton!

I don't know what the delay is all about. It should have been cancelled here weeks ago.
Just get it done.
The bigger issue is, after this season has been rightly cancelled, when can we start the next season?

TV won't be paying up without a product. It would see leagues decimated. Unless I'm missing something.

The bigger issue is, after this season has been rightly cancelled, when can we start the next season? It also means that the FA and the various Leagues can work on proposals to create new rules and guidelines on how to "finish" new seasons should (as seems more than possible) future seasons can be affected. It is a lot easier to write rules on say how many games would need to be played before you could declare a season "complete" rather than abandoned for a future season when clubs are not so immediately affected.

Interestingly while there will be no champions or promotion and relegation the Dutch are proposing European places will be based on league positions when the league stopped playing. If applied here Wolves and Sheffield Utd both into Europa League with Spurs and Arsenal (ha ha ha) missing out.

Even if the season did restart it would be behind closed doors obviously. But for me personally it would mean nothing at all, even if shown on TV for free.Football is for the fans and without fans it's worth nothing. Before all this started i watched around 5 minutes of a Italian league game played behind closed doors,it was souless and dull with out a crowd.Void season is for me personally the right thing to do now.

It is forecast that things such as Hairdressers and pubs will not be reopening for about six months at the least. Football must surely be the same.
All these sporting authority’s hanging on for no other reason than MONEY. Bight the bullet and accept we are in a mess and end it all and wait till we have a recovery.
I am a passionate SCFC season ticket holder. If I was told I could go to a game in Sept or October for nothing I WOULD SAY NO THANK YOU. I risked our last home match and looking back with hindsight I was pretty stupid but have probably got away with it.
