How are we all doing this lass reckons we've only got 5 to 10 years. Within the next five to 10 years, she says, climate change is going to cause it to fall apart. "I don't see things lasting any longer than that." Rachel is unsure about how much to tell her three daughters. "I don't say to them that in five years we won't be here," she tells me. "But they do accept that food will be difficult to find." Every six weeks, she takes her two youngest daughters on an 450-mile round trip from their home in Sheffield to an organic farm in South Wales, where they learn how to forage for food. It's vital for them to learn "skills we'll be able to use in the natural world when all our systems have broken down," she says. www.bbc.co.uk/news/stories-51857722

Looking at where she lives, it would only be a matter of time before the neighbours hop over the fence and nick everything. On a more serious note, she needs to retreat to a more isolated and rural community if she really believes we're approaching the end!

Ground elder leaves taste delicious when picked at the right time - they're quite a bit like carrots. I can't remember what they're called, but you can eat the yellow heads from those 'weeds' with the yellow heads. They're nice when they're big and full - sort of a tropical taste.
There's a load of wild stuff we could be eating, though some deadly stuff amongst it.
