Surprisingly good and very entertaining....just listened to the one when they just form an ad hoc WhatsApp group with Bruno,Fiona Bruce,Pat Cash and s few others picked randomly from Crouch’s contacts....Bruno immediately responded with a greeting!

I can't hack it, horrendous Radio 1 esque lad banter from the other two hosts although Crouchy himself I love.
Danny Bakers is better imo, with Gary Linekar, bit more old school and less 'laddy'.
For an out and out football podcast really recommend the totally football show, hosted by James Richardson who used to do the Italy round ups back in the day.

It wasn’t as laddy as I expected but I get what you mean....will check those others, although Baker is a bit overpowering for me at times even though I loved him when he first appeared.

I turned it off as soon as a realised that annoying prick Chris Stark was on it. Can’t listen to him. I’ve had a listen to “Liquid Football” and that’s pretty decent.

I enjoy it. The 'banter' is nowhere near the bad scale of some stuff (including Radio 1) I hear. Annoyingly, some BBC Radio 5 programmes are getting as bad as Radio 1.

If you want full on laddish banter then Undr The Cosh with Jon Parkin is the podcast for you - absolutely x-rated.
My favourite is The Infinite Monkey Cage with Brian Cox. It’s a perfect blend of humour, intelligence and education is compulsive listening. Notable episode is the Science of Humour.

Totally get that but Gary holds his own and is quite good at subtly interjecting and just sort of monitoring Baker. For football analysis I really can't recommend Totally Football show enough though, especially their Tuesday roundup they have a regular case of European pundits and Julien Laurens especially is just a cracking journo.

Also shit, how could I not mention Athletico Mince, Bob Mortimer being totally self indulgent for half an hour it's fucking brilliant if you're into that sort of thing.

I listened to 3 or 4 of the stoke related Crouch podcasts but always through gritted teeth, as it sounded like he had been trapped in a lift with two 14 year old boys who couldn’t stop pissing themselves every time someone said the word “Crouchy”

It’s really great! There’s an ongoing guessing game, who is Crouchie’s friend ‘Parched’. Fans basically harangue different footballers on social media saying it’s them and Crouchie reveals who is definitely isn’t. It’s not James Beatie
There’s loads of fascinating things Crouchie tells you. Like the medical people have an ear piece in so they know exactly what has happened before they run on. Referees have work night outs with other referees and don’t need as good boots. Abbie Clancy, Crouchie’s wife used to ring him at 2.55pm on a match day on a Saturday asking where he was and what he was up to. The team captain organised the night out and collects the money in. He gives out the away game tickets to the players for their family. When the players arrive at the ground, the kit is all ready for them and includes under pants. It’s great!

THE funniest bloke alive at the moment....I absolutely love him. Athletico Mince is so good,so many gems “the Beardsley” one with the jokes and the meat one with the darts player have me weeping. Have you seen those “train guy” ones he does on Twitter?

Train guy has me in bits you know, went to see him live in Sheffield the other week doing Mince and it's probably the most I have ever laughed in my life, I was genuinely in pain. Need more comics like him imo, just proper daft and fun. I like 'clever' humour in films and someone like Martin McDonagh does that brilliantly. For a stand up comic though you don't need to be preachy and clever like everyone seems to think these days.

The radio equivalent of Loaded magazine.
I like Crouch but the cackling sycophants and laddish banter grinds my gears. It’s awful......

I quite like the podcast overall although they do try a bit too hard to make sure it’s clear they’re having “banter”.
I love Bob Mortimer (his appearances on Would I Lie To You are amazing, so I’ll have to check out Athletico Mince.
I tend to mostly listen to non-football podcasts like Unmade, Infinite Monkey Cage, 13 Minutes to the Moon (they just started a new series about Apollo 13), Death in Ice Valley, and a few others. I’d be happy to hear of any other podcasts people would recommend.

They made a kazoo from a carrot in an episode about why music instruments make different sounds in the last one I listened to. It's great hearing Dr. Hannah Fry uncontrollably chuckling! Also The Museum of Curiosities if an archive is available. They have a "guest curator" each series, and Sean Lock was genius on it. Never Seen Star Wars is good too. Some of my favourites are the least expected, like an MP (Margaret Becket, maybe) learning to beatbox. Unmade seems interesting - I'll check it out.

Got slated on R4 as puerile & self-indulgent by listeners. What really p!$t me 0££ was,”Peter Crouch, Ex Liverpool & England striker”

I’ll check out all of those - Sean Lock is amazing so I’m sure that’ll be great. I’ve seen Hannah Fry in Numberphile videos before. The guy who makes Numberphile and a ton of other YouTube channels (Brady Haran) is one of the Unmade presenters. He also has interviews with mathematicians in the Numberphile podcast and has interviewed Hannah Fry in that.

The Crouch bits are interesting and funny but I can't stand the two children's presenters along side him. It's basically his audiobook but narrated while Dick & Dom are trying to ruin it in the background.
Still worth a listen for the Crouch stories but it could have been so much better alongside a couple of adults.
