This thread opener is the biggest dropped bollock on here in a good while. You're not wrong - just typical typical of the misinformed and misguided idiot that walks the streets of our city. Just read the Highway Code. I'm surprised most can breathe without having to concentrate. You’re all over the place fella. If I were you I’d delete the thread and log off for the night......

Hi there, Were any other fans harassed on Saturday afternoon whilst being dropped off on the road over the A500, near the incinerator? I know the Police have had a heavy presence recently to prevent parking but on Saturday there was one particular PCSO giving it large to folks being dropped off. Is there anyone else out there who took offence to this particular invdividual's attitude? Mr CW. So what’s all the fuss about 😎

When he uses the word "read", is he using it in the present or past tense? Is he telling us to read the HC (present tense), or is he telling us that he read the HC (past tense).

My very first impression was that he was suggesting that if we read (past tense) the HC we would discover that it is ok to stop on the roundabout to drop people off. Now I don't know at all.

Although I've never voted Tory in my life, I'd happily vote for any Tory candidate who would vote to bring in a law to castrate those who drop people off where there are signs saying no dropping off, parking or stopping. Anyone caught doing this should have their car seized on the spot and then members of the public in the vacinity invited to kick the shit out of it like that bonus round in Street Fighter II.

The car is evidently the object noun in this construction, so yeah, it's the car that's having the shit kicked out of it in this fanciful scenario. Admittedly, the syntax here could be tighter but brevity comes at the expense of comic effect.

Have you managed to decipher what is going on with the OP?

Government Advice is to self-isolate for 14 days Mr CW.
It won’t cure you of lethargy and ignorance but will give us all an opportunity to walk safely to the game along a narrow footpath with good visibility and no hindrance for at least three games.

More to the point, although the pavements exist, the number of people who wander down the middle of a two way carriageway at the end of the match is amazing. It’s very simple- if a car drove on the pavement, people would go berserk. if you wander down the middle of a road and get hit by a car, you cannot say you didn’t deserve it.

Even if those people wandering down the middle of the road are looking for a car parked in a no parking zone that is picking them up after the match? I'll give the OP his due, it stinks of hypocrisy from the authorities. If his missus shouldn't stop there to drop him off they should equally enforce that she shouldn't stop there to collect him afterwards. Read the Highway Code. . .

Tin hat on but I'm with the original poster here. My missus drops me off on that roundabout too and some of the looks we get when she's reversing back down the slip road towards Hanford boils my piss.
It's like they've never seen a woman cross all 4 lanes to parallel park on a busy roundabout before. Sexist pigs.

Its a good job that the Hull game wasn't a really boring goaless match or this Traffic issue thread might have become the big talking point of the day on this board!

On a bigger picture, when we were in the Premiere league there was a pile of parking on the scrub land that is now Landrover garages, builders merchants etc.. If we ever get back to the Prem and the gates go back up, where the hell are all the cars going to go? Is there a plan, or is it hope for the best and just close your eyes and pretend it is not happening? Thoughts?

Comedy Gold!..😂😂😂

This roundabout stuff sounds fun.
I think on the way home from work tonight, I might pull over on Viccy Road roundabout, parallel, and just wander about a bit. If anyone challenges me or the police attempt to stop me, I'll simply say 'Highway code mate' and continue on my way.

The people dropping / picking up people are wrong, and people wandering down the middle of the road are wrong. In much the same way that people parking illegally can’t complain if they are fined, people wandering down the main carriageway can’t complain if they get knocked down.

Stoke have stuck rigidly to not challenging for a return the Premier for two seasons now. Their parking strategy in respect of that is sound. Unfortunately the down-side of that is the football we have mostly played is gash.

Wàlking in front of cars seems to be the norm for some coming out of grounds. Am sure most of us have seen the bloke over the years who walks in front of a car, blames the driver then offers him to get out of the car. Only once have had the pleasure of the driver getting out and the fat, bearded pedestrian panicking before making his way off rather quickly....was after we played at OT on a Sunday a couple of seasons ago 😁.
