Hi there,
Were any other fans harassed on Saturday afternoon whilst being dropped off on the road over the A500, near the incinerator?
I know the Police have had a heavy presence recently to prevent parking but on Saturday there was one particular PCSO giving it large to folks being dropped off.
Is there anyone else out there who took offence to this particular invdividual's attitude?
Mr CW.

If your driver stopped on the roundabout or just before it then you deserve all you get to be perfectly honest. So many people engage in this ridiculousness.

Yes it does, there are 2 large signs as you exit the roundabout and then Yellow signs on every single lamp post along the road.

That parking and picking up, dropping off at that point does my Ed in. It does say no stopping but still people do. Would you drive up a one way street the wrong way, probably not, so why do you stop there, just walk a bit further where it is possible to stop and get picked up or get dropped in Stoke and catch the bus.

Good on them for keeping you and other road-goers safe. You should be grateful.

Although I've never voted Tory in my life, I'd happily vote for any Tory candidate who would vote to bring in a law to castrate those who drop people off where there are signs saying no dropping off, parking or stopping. EDIT: Obviously, I'm only in favour of chemical castration - I don't want to hurt people!

You got dropped off right on the roundabout, completely ignoring the signs indicating that there is no parking/stopping around there on the road across the A500. If you were the guy getting out of the mini you were behaving ridiculously. You state yourself there's a police presence to stop people parking there yet still you ignored this and the signs! Do you have some sort of disability that would justify the need to do this? I'm more offended by your attitude towards not getting your own selfish way than any PCSO giving you a deserved bollocking for this.

Instead of stopping on a busy main road why not drive 50yards more into the quieter sainsbury warehouse road and get dropped off there. Safer for you, less risk of your car getting hit, and less chance for other pedestrian or cars to involved in an incident with your car. The only downside is you walk 2 minutes longer!

The bigger issue is the lack of a drop off point alternative for supporters who are coming from a different direction. I know there is (or was?) one at the Stadium but that isn't always convenient, is sometimes a nightmare to get to and a pop up drop off and pick up zone in the incinerator area, Blurton area, Heron Cross area would be a very good idea for the supporters council, club and SOT council to get their heads together and sort out.
The ultimate zen would be a proper park and ride scheme which could be combined with a proper fan park somewhere in a reasonable proximity to the stadium and or town centre.
We didn't get that when we had money in the PL, so i'm assuming that is a dead duck now.
I wish this club wasn't so backwards at times.

When did they stop running the buses from Stoke, Hanley, Newcastle etc?

They still do, but is that a proper park and ride as I was talking about it, club orientated, or a service provided by a bus company?

Wasn't someone killed or badly hurt there once? I can see the police's point to be fair As for castration I think that should be saved for people who take kids to pubs and let them run around or anyone who walks down the street staring into their bloody phones.

Frankly, worse than castration, would be to suspend the driving licence and slap a compulsory re-taking of the driving test on people who do this kind of thing. Then they can argue the case with the test examiner.
