We have now scored 49 league goals with 9 to play. Of course we spent most of those years in the Prem with reduced games, but we did do well in a lot of those seasons.
Interesting to see how many we chalk up this season. At our current rate under O'Neill it would be about 15 more so 64 altogether, 5 short of the total we managed in second place back in 2008.

Goals are irrelevant.

I quite like them though when they're for us. #heresy.

If goals are irrelevant presumably goals against are also irrelevant?

Beginning to suspect this might actually be Pulis' account on here.

We dont tend to be the most free scoring side but noticed we have scored 49 goals already this season after 37 games.
That is the most goals scored since before our Premiership days and we still have 9 games to play.
How many goals did we score in our promotion season? Without doing a Google Search please

What's wrong with doing a Google search? We got high 60s-ish in the promotion season, second highest scorers in the division.

Considering the first 15 matches under Jones, that's a good return. Now imagine, and let's say we carried on O'Neills form all of next season, how many goals we could score.
I really don't want to get my hopes up, but if we stay up I am quietly confident we could have a cracking season next season.

If all goes to MON's plan, we could get 75. (play off push)

How many games did we go without scoring 3 or more? Almost 90 wasn't it? It's become a regular occurrence under O'Neill. It's not a coincidence.

Pretty impressive going and, given that the squad is nowhere near what it would be if it contained mostly MON signed players, you'd assume that next season our scoring record could be upwards of 75.

But we'd concede 43 more than a Pulis side and end up midtable! 28 goals conceded in his 22 games in charge. 59 over the course of a full season. By means of comparison, we conceded 55 goals when we got promoted in 2007/08.
