The majority are not that stupid and won’t do that. You don't need the majority to get the virus spreading again, do you? The way we ALL ultimately get out of this, is by ensuring the track, trace and isolate protocols work, which will mean that thousands of people over the coming months, are going to be expected to stay at home for 14 days, when they don't even have any symptoms. How on earth can we expect people to comply with this when the Government's top advisor blantantly ignores the rules when he and his family are actually infectious? What Cummings did was stupid and unforgivable but what is absolutely shameful for the nation, is that the Government have today attempted to justify what he did. Not only could it set back our fight against the virus but could do so with tragic consequences. The Government have nailed their colours to the mast. There own political survival being prioritised over the publics. This is basically the final nail in the coffin for lockdown, nobody will bother anymore that's pretty obvious. Why should they if those who are governing aren't prepared to follow their own guidelines. It will take another 3 weeks to see the effect of this for the 2nd spike, if that happens we are back to Square 1. Except for those who sadly fall by the wayside, who will be Square 0.

Was ever the saying that "the cover-up is always worse than the crime" more apt?

The Sun is urgently looking for a dead cat if anyone can assist? They could always look at the impact on employment of Chancellor Sunak’s changes to the furlough scheme where employers will have to pay 25% of employees salary and Employer's National Insurance from 01 August. It was very good of Sunak to give employers plenty of notice about the rate that they will have to contribute but odd that it should be issued today, the Saturday of a Bank Holiday just after parliament going into recess for two weeks. Does anyone else remember a government department saying that some days are good days for getting out bad news?

It’s basically saying Downing Street are a lying bunch of fucks. Same as Boris lying in PMQs to Starmer last week about Goverment advice in relation to care homes. Nowt gets done about it for some reason.

That Donkey Field in Starmer's back garden would have been good to run tomorrow but that's been done. What's Sam Smith been up to during lockdown?

Do as we say, not as we do. We are beyond reproach. Thousands of you lot (scum) fined for breaking rules, but not us. We'll do what the fuck we want. And theres not a thing you can do about it. We'll show you slides of number of deaths compared to other countries, until it is clear as day we are off the charts worse than every other country, we'll then remove that slide. Because you can't make comparison to other countries, you idiots just don't understand. Using "guided by the science" to deflect all blame, and profess to be squeaky clean at every step. Hanging care homes out to dry. Gross negligence leading to thousands needless dying. Then blatantly lie and say they were at the forefront of you action plan from the start. Even when pointed out with factual evidence that proves that is bollocks. Just lie and move on. Apparently that isnt a big deal and it just gets swept under the carpet. Send schools back without seeking all evidence and expert guidance on what the actual risks are. Well, all schools apart from private schools. Kids of the scum can be risked. Months after being advised that track and trace was the way to control and stay on top of this virus, still be absolutely nowhere near having a suitable system in place. Instead of doing that, just tell every fucker to "stay alert" and put the emphasis on the public (scum). This government is the fucking pits. As good a post you'll see on the matter.

A Government minister - and stand in Prime Minister - blocking a BBC journalist on social media, presumably for something he's taken offence to.
Not fit for purpose.

I think we can all agree we're in the shit at the moment. If you were in the shit in different circumstances - say lost in the jungles of Papua New Guinea - who would you prefer to have with you? You know, selflessness, teamwork etc. Starmer and Nandy or Johnson and Patel? Genuine question, serious answer please. Serious answer. Not Starmer and Nancy Good luck with the other two then. If they don't decide to eat you first they'll sell you into slavery to save their own fat arses.

Taken offence to a reasonable question. Blocked because these people don't believe they should be questioned. They feel they are above questioning. Unbelievable Arrogance and sense of Self-Entitlement They are better suited to serving in a Chinese government not a British Government.

I can't understand why the news media pushes the agenda that Cummings is out killing people, rather than question the number of top officials breaking lockdown who clearly believe this virus is of no threat.
It's this that people should be considering.
No different than questioning that if it's possible for supermarkets to be open, with thousands of random people in and out everyday, why is everything else not open?
The lockdown is a con. Time to end it.

Said two weeks ago this government is set on a implosion course and only a national government will be the outcome . I’ve no political axe either way and can see good and bad in both but the credibility of the key players in this government is diminished beyond repair The leader is absent presumably Recovering rather than by design his principal advisor is a dead man walking and his key colleges lack the gravitas , experience or credibility to carry the fight .
They are finished as a government , emergency measures are required for 18 Monte of National all Party government and then an election .

I'm confused. Johnson got the virus on March 27th. Then it is widely reported Cummings developed symptoms that weekend and would isolate for 7 days in London. But isnt it the story now that he was fine and drove his wife, who was positive, up to Durham? It's a total contradiction. Have I got something wrong?

I've worked out my confusion. I'm listening to the radio and they say keep reporting Cummimgs "drove to Durham when his wife developed corona virus" - but meaning they both had it. They are making it up as they go along but I'm also a bit dense.
