They will have to slacken the rules off shortly or people will just go out regardless. They cant expect people who have a busy life routine to just hibernate for 6 month it's not going to happen. Wait until april and may when the sun comes out, who wants to be cooked inside after a few weeks trapped indoor following an allready dark & dull winter. Some People are workaholics, they are used to being active, some work outdoors What do you want them to do, just pretend that there isn't a virus out there that can kill you? They can't just magic it away, what do you want them to do?

They don’t start on that. Their pay is incremental like coppers. The more time they serve the greater their expertise... they start on 24 something so not much under 25k They start on a little under 20k www.nurses.co.uk/careers-hub/nursing-pay-guide/

It's already happening Factor in the expected sharp increase in deaths coming then they will keep people indoors, if anything even more than they are now. At some point when the deaths slow down then you will see itchy feet. Won't be April My mate keeps saying 6 month to me I'vetold him he is having a laugh. At some point they have surely got to open certain places on a click and collect basis? D.i.y stores for example, a lot of people wont be used to prolonged periods indoors and summer time is only around the corner. The boredom will kill some, I mean, look at old clems post above, it's not even been a week yet and the poor old rabid dog is cracking up 😄 It's a brutal ask alright, a prison sentence for adults and children alike who will return to an economy on its knees and 10 years of austerity. Mental health, obesity, the diseases which kill 650,000 of us each and every year in the UK dumped on the back burner or kicked in to the long grass. I hope it's worth it.

If we are weak then so are 90% of the other countries in the world. Do you think Canada, Australia, India, Saudi, Switzerland, Norway, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, etc. are all weak. We are the 6th biggest economy in the world, being overtaken by India. We have massive global influence with our culture and language, and financial services. If the EU have any sense, they will give us a better trade deal than anyone else because they sell >£60 billion pa goods and services to the UK. Do they want to risk losing that? I've never heard an Australian, Canadian, or New Zealander refer to his country as "Mini-Me". Regarding changing EU rules, there will be a massive revolt in French agriculture if they lose their funding. The eastern European countries will revolt if they don't get their regional aid. Is Greece going to be dumped by the EU? Italy is going to need major financial support, and probably Spain. We haven't jumped ship, we got out just in time. Just as we escaped Blair taking us into the Euro zone. Thank God. Canada, Australia, India, Saudi, Russia, and Brazil are huge countries with stupid amounts of natural resources the rest of the work is prepared to pay for. We haven't. Mexico is an economic basket case - and I'm assuming you are not expecting the base our economy on drug cartels. Switzerland are the world's bankers. Norway is pretty much aligned with the EU and when the oil runs out are very likely to join. Which basically leaves New Zealand. So the plan is to move into sheep farming? Economically we need the EU more than they need us. Our major industry is the financial sector and that can move at the flick of a switch. On the day of the referendum I saw Billy Bragg play at Glastonbury where he pointed out that all those people wanting to pull up the drawbridge on the EU hadn't cottoned on that the hinge is actually on the other side of the channel. Still so true. My big hope is that Covid-19 will alert the world to the importance of international co-operation and give the go it aloners a massive head wobble. You seem to have a low opinion of your country and little confidence in Britain's future. You place a lot of importance on the natural resources of the countries you mention, yet strangely we have large positive trading balances with Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and small trading deficits with Russia. India has limited natural resources relative to the other countries you mention, but the largest trading balance with the UK. Switzerland is the world's largest wealth management centre, but China,USA, and the UK are the largest banking countries in the world. www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/032315/what-countries-represent-largest-portion-global-banking-sector.aspMexico is one of the top 20 economies in the world. I worked for Lafarge for 7 years, Cemex is the 5th biggest cement company in the world. I think you are silly to knock Mexico, only a fool like Trump does that. Why should Norway want to join the EU? We have a >£60 billion trade deficit with the EU and their nationals have come to this country in their millions. Who needs who? You make very valid last point on co-operation, but I think the need for self-sufficiency will be an even bigger wake up call, and less inter-dependence. Returning to natural resources you mention in your first line. These will become less and less important in the future. We hardly generate any electricity from coal these days. ourworldindata.org/death-uk-coalI believe oil will go the same way in time, with electric cars and trains, etc. and less air travel, not more. Recycling will become more and more important and metal and plastic goods will be made increasingly from old ones. Countries will become more dependant on the talent of its peoples rather than materials, something the UK is very good at. Our country can thrive on ingenuity, IT, sophisticated products, luxury goods, finance (did you know that each year the Chinese middle class increases by more than the total middle class of Europe? The definition of middle class being those with disposable income.) We have other advantages with our own currency, and the English language, which is still the main language in the EU!

The blue lagoon one really seemed fucked up and just ott. Derbyshire Police really seem to have let the power go to their head. The 'blue lagoon' near Buxton is an old quarry which is so poisoned with chemicals that it glows bright blue. It is full of dead sheep and shopping trolleys. It is proper minging. Nevertheless knobheads from far and wide gather on it's banks to have barbies and swim, yes fucking swim, in it's filthy poisoned waters. Derbyshire police have regularly, in the past, put black dye into the water so that it is less appealing to the twats in order stop them killing themselves. But strangely on those other occasions the Guardian didn't deem it to be newsworthy. It doesn't seem to have been an infringement of their liberties on those occasions. I know, the fascist bastards, fancy letting the power go to their heads so much they try to save someone's life.

Well there is always the one about the Mexican fisherman .....
Who was sitting under a tree, in the shade drinking beer. A merchant banker approached him and suggested that he should go out fishing again. If he did that , eventually he could buy another boat. In time he could buy another two boats - and one day own a whole fleet of boats.
Why would I want to do that said the Mexican fisherman. The merchant banker said, well you could just sit here under the tree for the rest of your life drinking beer.
But that is what I am doing now said the fisherman

It is like grading levels of shitness. All politicians are shit, we take that as a starting level. Before you can become a politician you need to learn how to tell lies convincingly. The ones that can do this better actually proceed to become successful politicians. From then on "up" is the only way that they can go.
I think a lot of it is the level of information via technology available today. Good or bad... take your choice. A few decades ago the average joe read and believed what was in the Daily Express or Daily Mirror depending on your political persuasion. Speeches and texts were edited and censored ... HoC now live of course. It's a different world that nobody can fart without being "breaking news" Nailed it mate

I'm not blaming China for our useless govt being slow. But tbh I don't get why we cosy up to them so much anyway. The Huawei deal was just plain daft and will put national security at risk. You just need to look at anything new militarily they build and how close it is to what we have. They hack us like fuck already. The UK government acted negligible at best and as I said when the herd immunity stuff came out I thought it was Tory policy of killing off the masses in action. I still think that played a part. To absolve blame on China for this thing generally is totally daft just as the people wanting to absolve our government of any blame too. Why does it have to be so black and white? End of the day do we REALLY know that the virus originated naturally in Wuhan and that it wasn't part of any one or number of conspiracy theories being thrown around? I would think that it would be relatively easy for any government to frame China for this if they wanted. Now I'm not saying it's not come from China. It's just that you can't believe or trust anyone anymore. There's nothing in the media that can't be planted or manipulated. As such, I don't particularly care where it came from. I care about what we're doing to save lives. Epidemiologists have traced it so precisely they know almost to the day when it jumped from animal to human in Wuhan market.

ANTIBODY TEST 🙂
How many of you have done a antibody test yet, to see if you have HAD The Corona Virus already and developed antibodies against it?
According to the press today there are a total of 50(!!!) such tests out there on the market atm. Some of them are good, they say over here. Sweden wait for our own test to be ready in a few weeks, May.

THE FIRST PERSON w CORONA
Much focus is now directed to find out who Patient Zero was, the first person who got the Corona Virus.
According to the press here, it wasn't a person who had visited the fish market in Wuhan. How they do know that now, I don't know yet. More updates later.

Because I'd like to think that would be a natural thing or happen in newly deforested areas. And it just sounds like a grand scheme like carbon offsettimg, ooh look we're doing this.....what about the pollution from the factories, cars etc but we're planting trees in deserts.... Just didn't sit right me with me tbh. Totally agree. They produce 30% of the world's CO2, they want to sort their own country out first. Making stuff for most other countries, the carbon footprint of what we buy can't all be attributed to China, we must take some responsibility ourselves for what we buy.

Labour MP tweets about following Government guidance, saying police will enforce. 4 days later, said MP breaks that advice, drives 150 miles each way to see millionaire parents on birthday takes chair, tables and cake, MP tweets about it, police respond to that tweet (they haven't actually gone to the scene) telling him it wasn't essential travel. Sheik & co are giving the police grief for being heavy handed, whilst also saying Jack Grealish is a knob for breaking the rules You couldn't make this shit up really could you ?

I agree with Gods in that for all the staying indoors there will be repercussions, it's too strict imo to be realistic. I've seen a report this morning that the deaths to infections rate is lower then previously thought at 0.66% and influenza is 0.1%. Looking back I think I've allready had something similar earlier in the year, I'm not one for suffering with flu or even a cold for that matter but in either december or january I was ill with a fever and was coffing like a dog, it knocked me off my feet for a few days, couldnt sleep through coughing so hard. I think if the nation was tested the whole scare fest the media are using would be dialuted somewhat as true figures of infections v deaths would be known

Coronavirus is also much more infectious so without the social distancing and self isolating people are both more likely to get it and then die from it if they do.
