Misleading figure. They only recorded 8 hours yesterday I wondered why there was no great gnashing of teeth and wailing when they announced it on the news. I assume it's 139 over 2 days then? So averaging at 70. Not great but not yet Italy proportions. What I don't understand and worries me is that the number of deaths compared to confirmed figures is so high. So either not many people are becoming ill or they are doing very little testing (as per Northy). On the news in Germany, an expert said that one of the reasons that presently Germany was coping was the amount of testing going on (500,000 per week).

Brilliant and very moving in our street in Weston Coyney. It was reverberating around Parkhall Hills. All that was missing was the big roar at the end. Thank you the NHS.

You would assume that there have been millions that have had it world wide without the need for medical intervention so the death to infection ratio isn't really known. You are only seeing recorded infections which in most countries are hospital admissions.

It's a generational thing. I've only just got 'woke' and 'salty'. Wet dream? Is there any subject you can't make semen related? Freud would have had a field day.

Tax avoidance/mitigation/minimization = legal Tax evasion = illegal The scenario above is most definitely minimization and perfectly acceptable. Can see me pressuring her into sorting this situation out for the future. It's currently one of those - "can't be bothered" situations with her. Maybe she should have simply set up as a "sole trader"? Things are much simpler that way. Far less admin to handle, and no real time PAYE to have to deal with.
I think that sometimes people think that "limited liability" sounds good, but at the end of the day if you need to raise major finance, any lender will ask you to put your house on the line. So any point to it really? You can escape Employer NI using dividends, but is it really worth it? Of course you can put "Company Director" on your passport.
All advice given "after the event" with hindsight - which is the easiest advice to give. Best of luck to you both.

I had cause to go into my local town/village today as I needed to go to the Post Office. When I got there the Office was shut and on restricted hours, even though I had earlier checked online that it would be open. However what was a shock was the extent to which the business centre had changed, with all the shops and services shut down. The whole place was deserted, and really it felt like an old TV episode of The Avengers or Department S, where somebody wakes up and goes out of their house, to find that all of the people have mysteriously gone! And I've just realised there was something good about it. No Chuggers!

Good lads, I'm glad that you have. Was a bit sad to see no one on my street doing it, considering as well the street I'm on actually has people who are cared for! Still, I clapped anyway, even if I was on my own, they deserve our support. It appeared our whole street was out, there was even a kid waving a sparkler on her doorstep. I hope those on the front line get to see the best of the images and know how much we appreciate them! I was out for a run, someone let a firework off about 10 yards away and I nearly soiled myself......

What will she do with the extra money? Most likely put it back into the economy or save it and ease the burden on the State in later life

I did it chig and loads on my street did, all at our front doors and was loud, couldn't video but hope someone managed to. Made me feel like there's more good people in our country than bad and gave the hope that we will all get through this together. Lots with blue and white lights in their windows aswell in support of our NHS ๐

The outrage over Prince Charles being tested is extremely short-sighted. Just think how many people that man has been in close proximity to and shaken hands with over the past few weeks. Those people certainly deserve to know that they've been in contact with an infected person.

Lockdown day 12 done here in Lanzarote, minimum 18 to go, its tough lads. The UK needs to wake up quick, it will be interesting to see peoples attitudes on here in 10 days time, once the novelty has worn off... Strap in Stokies, we are in for the long haul. Run out of beer mukka ? it's a good job I am naturally an anti social old fcuker, I think that when the weather get's back to normal over here plenty will get pissed off very quickly, hopefully we can get out to Matagorda later this year I might even buy you a beer or two to celebrate the end of this shit virus and Stoke staying up, take care and stay safe mate
