One post like that is worth at least 1,000 posts from the bickering idiots that spoil a lot of our threads - the PSTs (point scoring twats). I do think that there has been less of the nastiness on this thread than other more overtly political ones, ( really) a credit to us Stokies. That's how it should be if we have differing opinions. I think most of us realise the possible gravity of the situation , at heart ( as someone else has said) the virus does not have a political slant , we are all in it together and the success of any strategy depends upon everyone working together. It started to get quite feisty this afternoon and this excellent thread was in danger of disintegrating into yet another political foul mouthed slanging match. Suddenly the posts disappeared. Well done Admin.

Funny you've posted this ... my wife said to me this afternoon, if U2 can download their album, unrequested, for free, onto everybody's iPhone, why isn't the government sending out public information bulletins to everybody's mobile phone? Again naively it seems I just presumed we would have this. The lack of preparedness actually shocks me. And let's face it Bayern it takes a great deal to "shock" you. You have seen our club fall from mid table security in the Prem, to fighting for survival In the Championship - and you made barely a whimper!

If you had floated the idea out there prior to this crisis that the government could send important information to people’s mobile number, you would have had the freedom of rights and liberals screaming big brother and slaying themselves at the alter of privacy. Now it seems like such a good idea. The thing is, you can’t predict how things will be taken by the population until the time comes to do so. Even suggesting an idea will be met by hostility and resentment. You have to do what needs to be done based on the information you have now and it’s a constant battle to provide balance. Life decisions are often grey and not always black and white.

Maybe that caused our Boris to give the police a bit of support (from you know where) before closing the zoos (sorry I meant schools).
Everything being done in due course, as required .....

I despair with some people Some people have been posting this clip and, no word of a lie, have had people actually retweeting a brawl between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Booker T in a supermarket on WWF Raw as a real fight in ASDA. It's arguably one of the funniest moments in WWF history. "Price check on jackass". wwf at its best

What made it was the expression on his face as McMahon sees it's him

But there is absolutely no doubt, that there has been a chronic lack of public information on tv, radio and in newspapers.

BRACE YOURSELVES . I suspect that Boris is going to make a major announcement this evening.
The country seems to be almost going into a voluntary lock down. It may become official. ?

Could never happen in this country, not enough intelligence, respect or manners. This country needs to stop thinking that its superior to all others. Social distancing in Denmark View AttachmentAbsolutely Perhaps this looming catastrophe will make people realise we aren't superior and the british bulldog spirit evaporated in about 1970. Thank goodness for the NHS. Civil disorder beckons. You can smell it.

Update in Italy: 602 dead today. It is perhaps dropping so hopefully starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Two days in a row, fingers crossed 🤞🏿 Percentage wise what did new infections rate look Milan?

Politics aside, what an unenviable position to be the PM who presided over the lockdown of the nation. Totally the correct decision of course.

Yet all building sites and many work places are open tomorrow. No mention of that. Plenty of mention of it from lots of concerned people told they’ll lose their jobs if they don’t show up etc. I’m still stunned non-essential work hasn’t been closed down yet. We closed down on Friday with only essential or specially dispensated work to continue But either way, ignoring the pretty clear advice on social events and whatnot which are the definition of non-essential in this climate doesn’t speak well for the “mature” nation the PM claims us to be. I’m convinced we’re days away from a compulsory lockdown because people still don’t get it. Bing bong.

Got to stop the absolute rabble of fucking idiots draining supplies for those absolutely need them most. And stop those who have a blatant disregard for human health. Enforce it to fuck.

Still wishy washy re the work thing.
A self employed kitchen fitters work isn’t essential in the grand scheme of things but if they want to put money on the table it is.
Glad though on the whole they’ve got tough.

Essential = key workers only?
