My lad is 6 and has never worn a face mask, and he never will in the future. PHE advise against anyone under the age of 11 wearing them.
Not only do children very rarely get the virus(certainly in a serious way), they don't transmit it as much due to less symptoms and lower viral loads, but also wearing a face mask is detrimental to young children as they develop and learn from adults, using facial expressions and watching them talk helps with learning to read and write.

Getting children to wear face coverings is beyond disgusting and frankly anyone suggesting it is a good idea is both bat shit crazy and utterly indoctrinated. Sadly, it's becoming an all too familiar occurrence. I had a wander through Newcastle town centre today and there was a woman with three young kids. All of them were under ten and the youngest one couldn't have been any older than 4. All of them were wearing masks. Maybe they just wanted to copy their mum and maybe the think it's a new fashionable trend? It's not my business to tell anybody how to raise their kids, but that woman is an idiot. My 13 and 10 year olds wear masks when we go into shops, the 10 year old does it by choice as technically he doesn't have to. My missus made a load with the kids one weekend out of various old t-shirts/dresses etc and my 3 year old wears one occasionally just because her brothers do, her favourite is one made from and old pair of Peppa Pig pajamas. I guess that makes us idiots, c'est la vie. You're definitely right about one thing though, it's absolutely not your business and certainly not worth getting worked up over......

This react study is using data collected between the 4th and 23rd of February. In a situation as fast moving as this it’s not much better than useless.

Correct, it's none of your fucking business and you have no clue about her or their personsal circumstances...but you're going to be a judgmental prick anyway!
Bravo you. What a big man!
Dickhead.
And to think you've been banging on about people's personal freedoms. None of this seems to have taken away your freedom to be a dick about people you don't know, quite clearly. And to think that phrase above came from a fucking admin........embarrassing!
I've clearly upset a few with my post and with the benefit of hindsight it was a poor one to make so apologies for any offence caused. I'll give you that free hit.

I mentioned bipolar ionisation on here a few days ago, it's getting proven results, in a hotel room in Madrid, bipolar ionisation systems were independently tested by INTA, the Spanish National Institute for Aerospace Technology, and Spanish Plasma Air distributor Tayra. A Plasma Air PA600 device was fitted to the outlet of a fan coil serving the room. A SARS-CoV2 surrogate, MS2 bacteriophage (see panel above), was aerosolised into the room air via a nebuliser. Air samples via a solid bio sampler and surface swabs were taken for analysis at the laboratories of INTA. After just 10 minutes, the concentration of bacteriophage in the air captured by the solid bio sampler showed a log two (99%) reduction compared with the control. Swab samples taken from surfaces around the room showed an ~80% reduction in bacteriophage counts on surfaces. Nagasaki University in Japan2 demonstrated that, in a small, three-litre test chamber, aerosolised SARS-CoV2 concentration was reduced by 91.3% when exposed to Bipolar ions. I wonder if this can be rolled out for the Olympics and Euro 2020 hotels and changing rooms etc ? The Ritz Carlton has recently installed it to give customers confidence to book a room. I think I'll rob a bank and book in there then for my next trip away

Not sure you can make accurate claims on a population of 3.4 million after asking 2,000 people..

Fair play Dave. I appreciate it's an emotive subject for everyone and most (myself included) don't always hold their hands up so graciously when they're passionate about something, so credit where it's due.

Not sure you can make accurate claims on a population of 3.4 million after asking 2,000 people.. I'm pretty sure 2k is big enough, the maths says that if 40% of 2k people say "yeah I did that" then you can be 95% sure that the overall number is 38-42%. You're probably right about the number being suspicious though. People often lie if they think they did something naughty, and the pollsters might get in touch with more active people who can get out more. My Nan had dementia and couldn't walk, I doubt they would have asked her and she'd be a definite "no".

A quick run down of sample size would seem to suggest you'd have to have 2400 respondants for their claim to be significant. Which is a lot closer than I thought. I am just splitting hairs and having flashbacks to uni dissertations.

Not sure you can make accurate claims on a population of 3.4 million after asking 2,000 people.. Pretty accurate. the sample size needed depends on what confidence you wish to have in the findings. UK opinion polls often have a sample size of just 3,000 for the whole population opinion and the result has about 95% confidence level. The biggest error is how "truthful" people are when asked a question in an opinion poll. Studies have been dons and often people give an answer to canvassers that either they expect the canvasser wants to hear, or to get rid of the canvasser, or to avoid embarrassment, and so on. Studies have been done which reveal how many don't actually understand the question, or just say the first thing that comes into their head - see the "Tipping Point" thread.

863 thousand tests apparently You'd hope the deaths would start to fall away quickly soon, wasn't it the 15th February when the first 4 groups were all vaccinated, that's 3 weeks this weekend, many of those would have been done before that though.

Yes it was mate and for the 2nd day running there were more deaths in the 60-79 year olds than the over 80’s

I'm sure I've seen it somewhere else but can't remember

Very interesting, I'll have a little scan through that thread. Fortunately my days of worrying about stats and surverys are long behind me! I remember putting in so much time to create surveys for best teaching techniques for adults with learning disabilities, only to find out my findings weren't significant.

I thought everyone was told I know I was and everyone I know says the same Windows 95 vaccine Wasn't that one of the good ones? Could play civilisation 2 all day on that bad boy. Just had my first jab, got to sit in the observation area for 15 minutes. Haven't noticed any updates downloading yet.
