Is anyone going to work tomorrow a selfish cunt? Well if they are then I’m a selfish cunt. We’re in the wank position that if we didn’t turn up, it would cause shit with the boss because he expects us the be there. He won’t shut down and doesn’t see the seriousness yet or he doesn’t give a shit one of the two. So I’m in until I’m told otherwise. 🤷🏻♂️ That applies to millions of people on this country. Until there is direct official instructions most small to medium sized businesses will carry on. It's a shitstorm of unprecedented proportions. Que sera sera.

Are garden centres and post offices open? If so why? I'd like to go to both but that would be irresponsible wouldn't it....so therefore won't....I'd like the Oatcake opinion on that.....but if it is irresponsible....why are they open? Post offices provide an essential service don’t they? Garden centres are a bit dull 😁

Don’t get pissed off by someone supping a pint last week when they’re being told to get on a bus tomorrow then sit in an office full of people for 8 hours.

Just a general question. Are the supermarket shelves still bare? Or are the shelves returning to normal levels?

It 'could' potentially mutute, but so could any other virus. Not sure why you make it sound like it can do as it pleases. I'll put that down to poor English. This was my comment: "Another worrying thing is that, in Hong Kong they discovered a 2nd case of Corona in pet dog in human to animal transmission." I admit my English is not so good, but what is the poor English in that, you can check the full story on New York PostFrom the article: "“It is very likely that the two positive cases [in Hong Kong] are examples of human-to-dog transmission,” Professor Malik Peiris, a public health virologist at the University of Hong Kong told the outlet. " It was the 'it can do whatever it wants' statement that I felt was misleading and came across as a bit scaremongering. It makes it sounds like the virus can mutate at will to overcome any 'obstacle'. I then used 'poor English' as a reason for that statement as I'm sure no one on here wants to cause more alarm than is necessary. Yes, it could mutate. I haven't questioned or disputed that.

Why?....handling over parcels...although I'm trying to get a present to a ( Muslim) friend's unusual wedding. Gardening can be very therapeutic and it is something that you can do while confined....growing veg may be a good thing...Dig for victory.🙃

Haven't heard anything about that. Just checked the latest update on Gov.uk and no mention of anything to do with pets. I haven't seen anything about this either. Is it to do with the news story that in Hong Kong there has been a transmission of the virus from a pet dog? (Apparently).
I think Spencer was just getting his words crossed mate. No official advice to avoid pets.

'The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has not released a cause of death and state health officials have not confirmed it as a case of coronavirus'Papers should probably wait for confirmation before trying to scare people.

You know I really do think this term 'underlying health conditions' is far too convenient of a catch all. It can mean anything from somebody who is undergoing aggressive chemo with virtually no immune system, to somebody with a BMI of 40+. Are people who are relatively young but not seriously ill, dying from this?

Can’t believe the experts on the oatcake haven’t been drafted in to write policy given how much they know about what we should be doing. I think hindsight is a new idea for some... Hindsight my arse. Good stuff 👍

Yet all building sites and many work places are open tomorrow. No mention of that. Plenty of mention of it from lots of concerned people told they’ll lose their jobs if they don’t show up etc. I’m still stunned non-essential work hasn’t been closed down yet. We closed down on Friday with only essential or specially dispensated work to continue But either way, ignoring the pretty clear advice on social events and whatnot which are the definition of non-essential in this climate doesn’t speak well for the “mature” nation the PM claims us to be. I’m convinced we’re days away from a compulsory lockdown because people still don’t get it. They only just closed non essential work in Italy. That will be the last thing to go.

Post offices provide a fair amount of banking and financial services and the local one I use is also a food store. They are important to a lot of elderly people since the banks have closed down en masse.

The post also visits you, if you hadn’t noticed 😉 I’d say plenty of vulnerable people rely on it. I wouldn’t go queuing up for a pack of sharpies though. But in these times of families not seeing each other I’d say a fair few letters and aid packages are being sent via the essential post office.

So Bayern , it's your view that we should not be visiting them.....irrespective of government advice( I'm just trying to get clarification) Until they are forced to close then you choose to go.. against the advice of most people. As long as you're aware that going could lead to you be infected or worse yet, passing it onto someone else and ultimately being responsible for their death. Up to you if you want to take the risk and if that's something you potentially want on your conscience.

Ridiculous and very misleading and helps NO ONE unless they say what the condition is...
