Bizarre song and dance about the 'Brazilian variant' and a massive man hunt for a single person when its more than likely there'll be many other cases of this (and other variants) in the country. Even if it is more resistant to the vaccine, it's unlikely to make them completely ineffective and 50% efficacy was initially considered to be acceptable. All very reminiscent of when the outbreak was first announced over here! Highlighting they had a case in York, then one in Brighton! Remember them coaches being escorted to secure hotel locations around the UK under Police escort when people were arriving back from cruise ships etc! Looking back what really was the point of that? PR exercise of the highest order. CV19 was already amongst us then I'm convinced of it!

Is she actually joking?!
"As more people take up jogging and fill the parks and pavements, should they be wearing a face mask?
Trish Greenhalgh, professor in primary care health sciences at the University of Oxford, believes they should.
"There is no doubt that you can catch it if you inhale. The exercising jogger - the puffing and panting jogger - you can feel their breath come and you can sometimes actually feel yourself inhale it, so there's no doubt that there is a danger there," she told ITV's Good Morning Britain.
She said: "40% of Covid cases happen by catching it from people who have no symptoms - so you're jogging along, you think you're fine, and then the next day you develop symptoms of Covid, but you've actually breathed that Covid onto someone perhaps you know, an old lady walking a dog or something like that."
Devi Sridhar, professor of public health at the University of Edinburgh, added that people should wear masks in busy areas but could take off their mask and "run freely" elsewhere."

I put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the blonde buffoon. he is clueless, another example is announcing weeks before implementation that people on incoming flights from "red" area countries would be required to stay in a secure hotel for 2 weeks at a cost of £1750 inviting people to save money by travelling earlier? I find it hard to trust a man who has 5 children by 5 women and is still single the man has standards whatsoever. 4 children with his 2nd wife, 1 with a woman in an affair during that marriage and 1 with his current fiancée. 6 children with 3 women I reckon, but could be wrong. I seem to recall a news report which said children with 5 partners but i may have misheard, still not what i would call a good example on how to behave.

What a load of bollocks, it's all just 'stab in the dark' could be's, maybe's etc. I take no notice either when Imperial College London are involved. "It is also able to evade between 25% and 61% of protective immunity from previous infection" Pretty vague guess then More bollocks... "The study suggests that infections were between 10% and 80% more likely to result in mortality after the P1 variant started spreading in Manaus"

I don't understand why people get so worked up about reporting on variants.
They are the one and only thing that could block our path to freedom.
They are plainly news and want watching like a hawk.

Stoke on Trent Live reported, only yesterday, that cases in SoT and Newcastle have risen. They're full of shit. Stoke-on-Trent is currently on 130 cases per 100,000 (after stubbornly being stuck around 150 for much of the last week). Newcastle is 88/100,000 and Staffs Moorlands is 72/100,000. coviddatashare.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/TableCumulative_20210301.htmlI genuinely hope that everyone who works for that 'newspaper' gets raped by a clown.

Furlough to be extended - Kwasi Kwarteng(Business Secretary) confirms It has to be extended, if we aren't fully unlocking until back end of may - end of June then those businesses still need the support. Will be interesting to see what end date they put on it, as the furlough scheme has been a pointer to restrictions before - remember when it got extended last time until end of march? That was a sure sign back then we would be under restrictions and here we are.

Keep it going by all means …… in the everything else section where it belongs. This is a footy board not Covid Central. You do realise that ... A. You are the only person suggesting this. B. You yourself hardly ever post on here anyway. But thanks for putting us straight, all the same. I don't post because if someone states an opinion that happens to differ from the prevailing "Group Think", it is deemed offensive and they get slapped with a ban - Speaking out against people on here who are supporters of over the top police brutality and who think that breaking arbitrary Covid curfew rules should result in a murder trial, ends up in censorship. Cool, but I don't need that in my life. As for your first point, you think this is a Stoke City FC related topic??????? Anyone who comes on here for info; support; guidance; or whatever, needs much more help than being able to find a thread placed in the correct location.

Probably be back open for Easter weekend though, pints outside in the sunshine ...

It's pinned at the top of both the SCFC board and the EE board actually, with it being the hot topic of the past 12 months. There's been a lot of really good information on there, some not so good and some I fundamentally disagree with, I respond to the bits I fancy and don't bother with the ones I don't. I get you're not a fan of the thread, I just don't get why you can't just ignore it?

The only person that needs help is someone coming onto a thread they've no interest in complaining about said thread being a pinned topic that will possibly be the most important topic of our generation.

Some keep them on all the time, others (like me) have them pulled down but pull them up over their face when they pass people, more to be courteous than anything else I suppose. Nobody much cares one way or another, people just do it and it doesn’t seem to bother anyone. Not sure why I mention it really, just to give that perspective.
