Now a massive issue for Johnson and his judgement also How the fuck is this not the lead item on all news outlets? You know the answer fella so I won’t waste my time typing it. Cummings should be dismissed immediately, he’s a side show that’s not required at the moment..... Sideshow psychopath Bob

Bloody hell www.thetimes.co.uk/article/coronavirus-ten-days-that-shook-britain-and-changed-the-nation-for-ever-spz6sc9vbAt the Sage meeting on March 12, a moment now dubbed the “Domoscene conversion”, Cummings changed his mind. In this “penny-drop moment”, he realised he had helped set a course for catastrophe.
By Friday, March 13, Cummings had become the most outspoken advocate of a tough crackdown. “Dominic himself had a conversion,” a senior Tory said. “He’s gone from ‘herd immunity and let the old people die’, to ‘let’s shut down the country and the economy.’”Shhhh, FollowYou says we should stop sniping you nasty remoaners🤫 Its tinfoil bath and the voices in his head making stuff up again.

I reckon that is conservative also. It's exactly the reason why this season should be knocked on the head straight away. No questions asked. Or are we going to see footballers playing games behind closed doors with masks on, referees and coaching staff with masks on and all support staff with masks on? Get it cancelled and call it all off for the foreseeable future.

We've been trail blazers for not full football stadia at the Bet365 for 2 seasons now! Keep every other seat and every other row empty and anyone who coughs gets a banning order

Least we know that Dominic Cummings won’t bother attending a select committee or anywhere that he has to explain himself.

Just for a change. I read through the first 20 pages of this thread a few days ago, quite enlightening. Hope those that were telling us we have nothing to worry about give us the reason why soon cos this is going exactly the way a lot predicted and we could really do with the answer they've been hiding. Yep it's a strange one, they surely know more than they let on The Donalds of the Oatcake

We need to be on official lockdown. Just get it over and done with. 1 month, everything apart from essential services shut and see where we are at the end of it, extend it to 6 weeks if needed. The world has gone completely mad. We are destroying each other and our economy and whilst we continue to do one, we'll continue to do the other. Naturally people will look after themselves and their own and worry for their own circumstances. End the ambiguity and just say "you socialise only with your own household. Keep your distance from everyone else".

Maybe Boris could introduce a 48 hr lockdown just to show the thickos that this is serious. Stay indoors or else this is what you are going to get

According to a scientist on the radio yesterday, the most worrying thing about this Covid 19 virus is that it has a big tool box. It can transform and mutate and do whatever it wants if an obsticle occur. That makes it difficult with a vaccine. And that's also why the isolated herd immunity theory could be fatal. It might require one herd immunity period in the society after another. This isn't correct, and all viruses mutate a bit anyway but what you are suggesting is not correct. People should be a bit more careful with the stuff they are putting on here, there is a lot of duff information. At least two drugs have shown a lot of success in treating it and are being trialled this week. They are working it out, if only everyone would just observe distancing so we can not overwhelm our health service. Pretty much what I said in other words, but some twats on here failed to grasp it and tried to post funny retorts.

There are obviously some very stupid and or selfish people around and I'm not trying to make excuses for them but why aren't there public information adverts in every television ad break, on every radio station, why aren't there full pages ads in every paper, telling people that they need to stay at home?

I am in a social category that is regarded as being "at risk" based on the principal criteria of age. However my generation missed the war and the levels of control and restriction now being imposed on us are totally new and not at all what we are used to. Never the less as reponsible citizens I am sure that we fully accept and support the Government measures aimed at breaking the opportunities for virus infection by contact, including the shutdown of publicly accessible services, and cafes and pubs.
One of my habitual activities, both from a social and work aspect, is to visit pubs quite often. I am an acknowledged expert on English folklore and tradition and one of my particular interests is in historic pubs. If a pub is renowned as being associated with an historic event, or with a particular author, or an infamous crime, I will probably go there if my work takes me anywhere near. I will certainly miss this element of my life but totally accept that the current closures are essential. I would encourage everybody, regardless of age or attitude to follow Government and medical advice, for the good of the many.
As part of his sombre but memorable St Patrick's Day address this week, Leo Varadka, the Irish Prime Minister said, "in years to come let them say of us, that when things were at their worst, we were at our best".
A sentiment that must touch a chord with everybody. Let this be a new code of behaviour, and as Leo said, "the nation must come together, by staying apart".

This countries path has been a messaging shambles. Maybe deliberately so. Its all set up for us to turn on eachother as a consequence. Blame eachother. But the reality is we were terribly prepared for an event like this and we've compounded it with catastrophically bad leadership. It's not the fucking numpty flower sellers fault they are carrying on and it's not the dozy arsed public's fault they are wandering along. Its spineless leadership from the start.

I'm just reflecting on what a simple, happy childhood I had on a council estate in Fegg Hayes. Not much money but we were really all " in it to together", perhaps didn't know any better. As long as someone had a football, coats for goalposts. Mow Cop ventures, Knypersley, Bonfire night and Christmas. Then in the teens , never ending visits to the pubs. My son is 25....he's had massive debt, uncertain future, lack of meaningful job opportunities, armageddon through climate change, five years to save the planet, supposed to be a snowflake( though he isn't) and now potential armageddon ( of one sort or another) through a virus, one month to sort it out....and has been told that his generation have never had it so good....ever likely there is an increase in mental illness amongst the young.
Still at least the young have not been called upon to fight a war from which they personally stood to gain very little.
What's it all about?

It’s simple, stay away from each other as much as possible over the next few weeks or the NHS will simply break!!
