Sunak is certainly next PM material A former investment banker at Goldman Sachs, turned multi-millionaire hedge-fund manager, turned son-in-law of the 6th richest man in India. Wounder if Javid is relieved or pissed off he ditched this gig right now? Well I'm glad that Sunak is there, he's comes across far more statesmen like than Johnson, at this time of crisis.

All saying we survive the virus we'll emerge with better fitness and air quality than we've had for years. No beer, no eating out and everybody walking simply to get out of the house. And no cars and planes spewing pollution out. Yes - there is something Malthusian about all of this. Thank you. I've just had to Google Malthus. Every days a school day on here.

Yeah Boris makes me feel nervous, there seems to be a panic in his eyes, whereas Sunak emanates a sense of reassurance and calm.

My pleasure - I've a feeling that over the next few months we're all going to learn a lot from each other - hope so. Something I can add to my list of 'Silver Linings' I'm compiling to keep me sane.

Someone has just pushed a lovely note through my door saying they can offer help with shopping, etc. They have left their mobile number and are willing just to chat to anyone feeling lonely. There are some incredibly kind folk in the world. Probably Tony repaying your years of unstinting loyalty.😆 Stay quirky and safe Marchy 👍

Conflicting advice; stay in but keep pubs open etc etc. Time to shit or get off the pot. Regardless of whether he's seen as a buffoon or shrewd operator let's hope for all our sakes he's jumped the right way.

Try electing a better government than the SNP? Not sure you really understand devolution. If giving them £30bn a year to fuck up their country then yeah, you're right, I don't Edit: Anyway this is more important than political points scoring, carry on dripping your poison.

I entirely agree but there are people in non essential jobs, offices mainly, put in equally compromising social distancing situations as pubs every day because they're not working from home.

Nature always wins. You can not fight it.
The weather will improve and SLOWLY things will get better.
In the meantime we are being well informed, and should all react and behave responsibly.
The joys of giving far outweigh the smugness of selfishness.
Must stop drinking. Will run out soon anyway. 🥃 🤪 ⚓️

Think Italy will see a drop in deaths soon as a result of the lockdown.
I would guess that they had massively more infections than are reported and that when quarantine was implemented a lot of recently infected people shacked up with older relatives.
Give it a week and their cases will start reducing..... Hopefully.

I've spoken to three Labour voting friends over the last few days and they're happy over the job he's doing especially in the knowledge of the hand he's been dealt and the fact it's literally a few weeks notice to deal with literally every aspect of our lives. This quote is telling: Having as prime minister someone who is a good chairman ready to delegate to those with specialist skills, with an intellect sharp enough to digest the fundamental points, a penchant for communication and a naturally optimistic spirit seems a pretty good blend to most of us.
