Genuine Q.
I thought it was better to have a depreciating asset on the balance books for another 3 years, for FFP, than simply to bin him off?

I wonder how much it's cost us to get rid? Must be FFP effective?

Like lots more on here who saw the Porto game in Cologne saw Imbula brush aside Whelan and Adam in midfield. Regardless of him being watched 25 times. How was a player with so much talent allowed to be such an idiot ? Why wasn’t he made to be a team player by the coaching staff ? The reports of him being able to speak only 20 English words after a considerable time at the club also beggar belief. BUT Imbula himself has wasted a great opportunity to be a top player. TBH I could brush aside no legs Whelan and Chunky Charlie 😎

Indeed, although it looks as though Scholes thinks there's room for manoeuvre to do it. I doubt it’s cost that much to the books, it’s likely he was part of the big write-downs we’d already done when relegated. I doubt it was anywhere near his full value still left on the books.

I was told his transfer fee had already been written off.

There’s no way that happened, it’d be like giving up the golden goose and trying to crap gold bars yourself, he’s not that stupid

high, high on the list of totally dickbrained decisions in our most dickbrained phase in recent history. I'm shedding no tears and he sure as hell won't be, he must hate the sight of SoT (wonder how many days he actually even spent here?)

How many more football clubs will make the same mistake? I can remember seeing him wearing gloves in August and thinking... "What an absolute shithouse of a footballer" and if I was an opposition player standing next to him in the tunnel pre-game I'd be knowing I'd got an easy time up against him. Funnily enough I was absolutely spot on.

Good luck G, sorry it didn't work out. Fuck him. An absolute waster and journeyman who doesn't give a shit about the club who's paid his wages or the fans who've had to witness his excuse for performances. He's a disgrace to his profession.

Will be interesting to see how scholes can put a positive spin on this one ...
Contract terminated by mutual consent is the same as saying we paid 18 million for him and got nothing for him ...a loss of 18 million

Not even that talented. He has literally one skill and it only took a handful of games for teams to figure out what it is.
