For the money and wages paid out , the worst transfer in SCFC history , what an absolute joke of a professional footballer

I went to Cologne that pre season and he looked brilliant that day.....I keep saying that to myself and as the years have gone on I keep thinking the 5/6 pints may have clouded my judgement lol 😂 Same here, I did post on here after the first day watching the game before ours, hoping he wouldn't play against us the following day, it was quoted after he signed.

His performance for us at Stamford Bridge remains one of the best individual performances I have ever seen from a Stoke player. Funny how things change.

From the Sentinel article
"Stoke confirmed his exit with a brief statement this afternoon.
They write: "Stoke City can confirm that Giannelli Imbula’s contract with the Club has been cancelled by mutual consent, subject to regulatory approval.
"We wish Giannelli well in his future career."
I don't wish him well at all.
Now for the final one of the three disasterous signing

I thought this too and only watched the highlights again the other day. What the hell went wrong and has any Stoke player fallen off a cliff edge to this degree before?

I came out of that game thinking we may have just made the signing of the season. What a disappointing fall from grace for an utter disgrace of a professional footballer.

I think Berahino's fall was far worse to be honest. At least G was never on the wrong side of the law, maybe on the wrong side of the moral laws, but he didn't drink drive, skip his alimony, drive without license etc etc etc.

I don't get that,if it's the same highlights video I've seen all he does is give the ball away or lose possession,he certainly doesn't look like one of the best individual performances by any player. Anyway it's immaterial,he was largely shit, stunk the place out and will go down in history as our worst ever signing

so we are not getting a fee for him then ,how much did we pay for him 16.5 million . so that's nearly 30 million we have thrown away on players and not got a penny back ,imbula and berahino are a disgrace to football, they should not be allowed to play ever again.

Like lots more on here who saw the Porto game in Cologne saw Imbula brush aside Whelan and Adam in midfield. Regardless of him being watched 25 times. How was a player with so much talent allowed to be such an idiot ? Why wasn’t he made to be a team player by the coaching staff ? The reports of him being able to speak only 20 English words after a considerable time at the club also beggar belief. BUT Imbula himself has wasted a great opportunity to be a top player.

There is zero chance that Lecce will want him at the end of the season, so even if there is only a 1% chance that Locomotive Moscow might want him next season then surely that must be a (slightly) better option? If Imbula was also a qualified train driver, Locomotiv Moscow might be his dream move! Does anyone remember that tele programme about Russian football? Explained about the rivalries between the Dynamos, the Locomotives and er, the military teams, the factory teams and whatnot. A bit like West Ham (iron works) versus Millwall (dockers) but decidedly more scary with armed squaddies on the terraces for local derbies.

Surprised at this, assumed absolutely no one would take on his big wages and he'd still be on the books till his contact expired.

The short and sour Stoke City goodbye tells it's own story....the Lecce one, which says they've "consensually terminated the contractual relationship with the footballer Giannelli Imbula," says even more. It's like they have to remind themselves that he was meant to be a footballer in order to work out what the fuck he was doing hanging round their stadium in the first place.

I wonder how much it's cost us to get rid? I doubt it was on the cheap, he’d have sat it out if it was. Probably: - big payoff from Stoke - signing on fee for next team - decent wages for the foreseeable future Life’s not fair!!
