How many games are we going to describe as “must win” ? We could lose this and still survive.

Tom Ince should be nowhere near the Stadium let alone the starting XI
But then again you can say that for at least 4-5 more 'players'

Butland Smith Batth Collins Martins Indi Allen Cousins Ince Powell Clucas Campbell Two changes... No point playing a 31 year old loan player if they aren't a clear improvement, and Chester has been poor so far. I'd like Collins to get a chance but wouldn't have a problem with Lindsay coming in either Thompson didn't look comfortable on the left yesterday - Clucas can do a job there and Cousins coming in would hopefully give a bit more protection to the back four We can't make too many changes but I'd go for a change of keeper too.

Butland Edwards, Collins, Indi, Tymon Allen, Clucas N’Goy, Powell, Diouf Campbell That looks about the best team 👍 Can anyone honestly name me a goo£ 90 minutes Collins has played this season , for me he was ripped apart by Leeds , sent off at Crawley for stupidity and the rest have been cameos where he has varied from promising to naive , high potential yes but I don’t get the clamour for him now in the fire of a relegation dog fight he’s too unpredictable for me .

There is just no evidence to support that Bayern you might as well throw the kid in from spurs as well and then next week wonder why Cardiff do a job on them , I deliberately asked what evidence is they’re for Collins in case I’d missed it but candidly he has only played in some of Jones more catastrophic moments so I understand O’Neil’s reluctance given the stakes

How about this? Play 1-5-2-3: Goalie: Federici/Davies; Backs: Smith, Corrigan; Centre backs: Chester, Lindsay, Collins; Midfield: Oakey-Booth, Cousins; Forwards: Diouf/Ngoy, Allen, Campbell. Subs: Thompson, Dunwoody, Gregory, BMI, Tymon, ... We have three big matches coming up in quick time. But we need to rest most of the main squad, most of whom are already flat and jaded. Time to draw deeper from our well.

As usual Benji, you manage to choose what suits. The Leeds game was down to McLean playing as a non- existent wing back while Lindsay and Carter Vickers we’re far more culpable than Collins on that day. Crawley- yes, as stupid as Allen against Bristol C. and Clucas against QPR- I cannot recall a cameo where he was naive, although Eze’s goal for QPR first game of the season did show some naivety- even though he was the only Stoke player to attempt to make a tackle. The reason why he should be given a chance is because Batth has had two good games all season, has the turning circle of a Blue Whale and hardly ever stays with his man. Chester has made as many poor decisions in 3 games as the naivety that you accuse Collins of, and then you have Lindsay who can look brilliant for 80 minutes, but is likely to give away any number of chances in the 10 minutes that he goes walk about. It isn’t even about whether Collins can be any worse than Chester, Lindsay or Batth- it’s just that it’s a nailed on certainty that Batth, Lindsay and Chester are an accident waiting to happen. The defending against QPR, Derby and Preston was simply appalling.

Would be happy for those two to be first choice centre back partnership next season. I think you'd find the fullbacks (once we have a genuine left back)and goalkeeper would perform better too. Would be much more of a goal threat at the other end too. If lack of experience us a concern then maybe an older (older not past it) left back might be the way to go.

If not then he's a liability Re Batth, very disappointed in him this season.

Butland Edwards, Collins, Indi, Tymon Allen, Clucas N’Goy, Powell, Diouf Campbell That looks about the best team 👍 Dropping three defenders after last week's incredibly awful back four performance sends out the right message. Dropping Invisible Ince, likewise. Adding pace on both wings is essential. I can more than live with that team too.

1) Federici....Jack has been beyond poor this season 2) Smith...My choice of Smith says how poor Edwards has been 3) Tymon...See above 4) Bruno...Until Ryan is fit 5) Collins...Id play Danny Collins before Batth 6) Clucas...Got to play if only for his goal threat 7) Allen...Hot and cold but there is no-one else 8) Cousins...No one else. Can he give us some physicality 9) Gregory...At least gives us some mobility and graft 10) Powell...Our main and possibly only source of creativity 11) Campbell...Picks himself
4-3-1-2 Powell playing off a front two. Tighter midfield with width provided by the full backs. At least we've got two up front with some mobility.

Edwards and Tymon should not be in the match day squad at the moment. Whilst some changes are required, MON won't make more than 2 or 3.
Questions MON needs to answer:
CB partnership - will he stick with Chester?
McClean replacement: will he give Thompson another chance?
Up front: will he go 2 or stick with Campbell on his own
As this is a home game I can't see Cousins starting (away games maybe he should)
My best guess: same as started v QPR injuries permitting. that was a "home" starting 11, thereby the mistake on the day - too open
Time will tell

For any Stoke fans thinking it's going to be a stroll Saturday, take a look at their record since Neil Harris took over. They are exactly the sort of team we don't want to be playing at the moment. Tough, uncompromising, good at set plays.. 3 points would be a real bonus.

After what we've been through these last 2 and half years, and playing a recently relegated side sitting 9th in the League do you think there's a single stoke fan thinking this will be a stroll ?

Allen in the middle of a front 3? You've lost the fucking plot there. He can just about play football for a relegation threatened Championship team for Christ's Sake.
