Each game gets bigger and bigger now - this is a must win! Butland Edwards Colllins Chester Indi Clucas Allen Diouf Powell Ince Campbell This won’t happen but the back four definitely needs a shake up. Ryan can’t come back quick enough! I think Diouf & Campbell could work well together but looks like Diouf’s days are numbered

4-2-3-1 Butland/Edwards,Batth (Shawcross?),Lindsay,BMI/Cousins,Allen/Campbell,Powell,Clucas/Gregory
Butland - yes he should have done better with at least one of their goals today, but he also kept us in it at times. Plus, from what I've seen of Federici and Davies, neither convince me either. We need a bit of stability and chopping and changing keepers is not the way to do it.
Edwards - Smith offers nothing for me, Edwards hasn't convinced this season but, as we saw from last season, he needs a run of games to ease himself in, and then he finds form. Also more of a threat and less of a liability than Smith.
Batth (Shawcross if fit) - Ideally, Ryan would be for, but if not, it has to be Batth. Yes, he's slow and ponderous on the ball, but he looks solid when he has a ball playing partner who doesn't look like a total liability. Also looks better when dealing with more physical direct sides like Cardiff. Furthermore, we need to remember that young Collins, as promising as he has looked, is a young kid who's made maybe half a dozen starts in senior football - he needs to be eased in slowly as 1 he's still developing physically, emotionally and in his reading of the game and 2 it's a big gamble as he could be exposed, there's a lot of pressure, if he makes an error it could knock him permanently and that could damage him - if Chester was not a liability (on paper Nathan would be the enforcer, he certainly has the attributes for it, and Chester could be the one sweeping up things, bringing the ball out as well as being able to guide him through - our other fit centre-halves at the moment are not strong enough of character to shield him or guide him through), and we had adequate cover in front of him I might be tempted.
Lindsay - thought he was made a scapegoat for Derby, but no one played well that night. Also looked to be really growing into our side and was impressive before being cast out for Chester
BMI - because Ward is hopeless, and Tymon has looked so green everyone he's had a chance.
Cousins - we need someone who can break up things, and sit in front of the centre halves, and he's probably the best fit even if he's not particularly great. Also, will allow us to keep a bit of shape behind the ball - teams have gotten wise to playing a man between the lines who can bypass the flat 2 and get at the centre-halves.
Allen - play him in a box to box role, looking to close things down from higher up off the ball and control the tempo when on the ball. Also want to see him play percentages a bit more, balls played into channels and whipped ones into the spaces between centre-halves and full-backs.
Clucas - he looked good playing out wide on the few occasions he's played there (under Rowett) also offers a bit of quality with his final ball, can tuck inside and nick a goal and does his share of defensive work.
Powell - simply put, he has the quality to hurt teams, and his performances recently have shown that. Want to see him being a bit more direct and making runs in behind a bit more, and getting into positions that hurt teams (such as against Charlton).
Tyrese - obviously, would like to see him through the middle, but given that Jimmy and Verlinden are injured, Ince is poor more often than not and he has the work-rate, pace and trickery to offer a threat out there, again can tuck in to nick a goal (Huddersfield away).
Gregory - a bit of a compromise as I feel Campbell is the only viable wide option on the right, but he puts himself about, is a nuisance, can play with his back to goal as well as off the last man and creates spaces across the line to allow the 3 to get in behind and hurt teams. Also doesn't allow teams to push up and push men into midfield as he offers more than static Vokes. If only he could finish...
Also, feel that lineup allows us to go to a 5-3-2/3-5-2 if we get overrun through the middle or want to get Tyrese more central (both cases, BMI slots in to make a back 3, Clucas moves out to left wing-back, Powell drops in slightly to become the most advanced of a midfield 3 and Tyrese and Gregory mix it up (if one goes long, the other drops in to offer an outlet, and they both have the legs and physique to play each role, so they can mix it up to confuse the opposition centre-halves). And also 4-3-3 if we want to chase the game (Clucas and Tyrese tuck in either side of Gregory, and, again, Powell to drop slightly deeper to play as the most advanced of a midfield 3 with Allen and Cousins)

Little point in having defenders. 😡 Diouf Allen clucas Ince Powell Sorensen Boothe Thompson Ngoy Campbell sankoh. There would also be 12 players with a keeper in so we’d be breaking the rules a bit there. As for who starts, any team that wins, I’m taking my dad the match and every single time I’ve done that we’ve lost so let’s have a change. Tried to think about it a bit last night, changed my original idea slightly Federici Edwards - Collins - Chesters - Tymon Cousins - Clucas Diouf - Powell - NGoy Campbell The whole defence yesterday fucked me off, get gone. br] I’ve put diouf in but the reality is I think now after yesterday and not making the bench (I think?), he won’t play again, so it’ll be Ince there, but with Ince on the left and NGoy on the right.

Collins is a no-brainer. We've conceded 10 in the last 4 He was a no brainer before we wasted our wage allowance on James Chester.

Collins is a no-brainer. We've conceded 10 in the last 4 He was a no brainer before we wasted our wage allowance on James Chester. True - I think he should have been playing all along. But I am sympathetic to the default manager position of 'Ooooooh, we can't have a just-turned 18yo centre-half starting every game in a Championship relegation battle" as it seems such a bold thing to do when you've got experienced heads around who've played hundreds of games in this league. I think we've probably reached the point where MON will think it's time to throw away that natural, understandable caution now.

If these starting 11 predictions are accurate, I look forward to the 'Edwards is wank' posts. He was dropped with good reason for a player who is marginally better.

Anyone who would want BMI at CB must have some form of memory loss. He’s been utter toss wherever he has played this season. He’s also clearly going through the motions as he hadn’t intended on still being at the club at this point.

Cardiff are one of the more direct sides in the league. They’ll be licking their lips looking at how we defend balls into the box.
Chester mustn’t play, I don’t think he’s won a header the last two games.
Collins is a must, doesn’t really matter if he partners Batth or Lindsay.

Butland
Smith Batth Collins Martins Indi
Allen Cousins
Ince Powell Clucas
Campbell
Two changes... No point playing a 31 year old loan player if they aren't a clear improvement, and Chester has been poor so far. I'd like Collins to get a chance but wouldn't have a problem with Lindsay coming in either Thompson didn't look comfortable on the left yesterday - Clucas can do a job there and Cousins coming in would hopefully give a bit more protection to the back four
