As an avid reader of this forum but few postings im interested as to why apart from the odd 1 or 2 posts very few bring up the subject of youth / u23 players. Apart from Campbell and the now injured and underused Verlinden, the now seemingly not in favour Edwards, and the again underused Collins there is very little youth in the team. The players that have played under jones and mon have consistently underperformed and continue to be selected.the idea behind having a category 1 status academy is to develop players with the ultimate aim for them to be integrated into the 1st team when the senior players become injured or out of form. The latter has been evident for all to see for a long while now and the injuries present and will become more prominent with current fixture programme of several games in short space of time. Liverpool,Chelsea,Man utd have all done this successfully lately so why not us??.yes people will say we are in a relegation battle and we need experience etc etc but the current players are simply not doing it or if they are then not consistently enough . We have players in the 23s Corrigan,Sorrensen,Dunwoody,Pemberton,Kyeremating etc etc who no doubt would give anything to be given a chance and if nothing else their selection and prescence would hopefully invigorate a currently stale/quiet stadium and add youtful exuberance and impetus to the team and club as a whole. It would be a win win situatuon for mon as select them and they fail/underperform at least he tried.. if they succeed he is a genius. Just a thought ??

If it's good enough for Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd then why not?

I love the thought of bringing youth through but our current form is terrific mate, top 6 or 7 surely, with relegation in the balance still and form good then why gamble? Edit 11th on goal difference
