Beconase used to work for me when I was in the UK. It used to be prescription only but I now believe it is available over the counter. I have no idea how expensive it is but it works.

Suffered from extremely bad hay fever since I was 7. First had it at a scrapyard weirdly enough, thought my eyballs were going to explode.
Last 2 years however since I moved out of Stoke I've hardly had anything., had a touch of it today but nothing really irritating
I'd recommend washing/showering several times a day, especially before going to bed and paying particular attention to your hair, where most of the pollen sticks to you. change your t-shirts/ shirts regularly, especially after being outside. Don't use the same towels as anyone else in the same household and change your pillow cases once a week. Get a tub of vaseline and smear the stuff on the inside of your nostrils in the morning, this prevents a lot of the pollen getting up your hooter, and wear sunglasses at all appropriate times (the bigger the better), this'll stop part of the pollen getting into your eyes and also go someway to stop you rubbing your eyes.
Allergy tablets work in part, so get some Cetrizine Hydrochloride, this is often branded as zirtek or tescos/boots own brand but the cheaper stuff that they sell is exactly the same stuff so go for that instead. 7 tablets in tesco's are just 89p (in a yellow and white box).
Apparently eating a tablespoon of locally produced honey does the trick but not tried that so cant recommend it.
hope that helps.

Having a nightmare with it this year. Cetrizine (any make) 7 for 99p at wilkos or 79p at Lidl is still the best widely available drug.
Plus nasal sprays and eye drops.

There was an advert in one of this mornings papers of an effective may to cure it shove some things up your nose and it releases you all day.
And best of all only £14.99
I was fine playing cricket earlier but then had a BBQ and it went crazy.

but Zirtek is just a brand of Cetrizine Hydrochloride, so you're paying over the odds for it.
