Look at today's stats and you'd think we got overrun but that just wasn't the story - the gameplan worked beautifully imo, we made them show us what they'd got, then we stopped them doing anything with it ('stopped the opposition playing' is my fave phrase I know... but finally we're getting it right) and created the space for ourselves to sort them out. And we're tough again, look at that lovely fouls stat. We're really starting to look like a football team you mess with at your peril. 2-0's maybe flattering, it was a much harder game than that but we're due a few breaks.
9* for Mick from me

9*
After the first 15 mins never really in danger, we are holding our shape much better which is helping defensively and we are creating chances, if we could up our conversion rate we would be really flying.

10.
He’s transforming the entire culture within the club. We’re finally seeing a team that fights, that has a game plan and can physically compete. You’ve got to earn the right to play the game on your own terms, and for the first time in a a long, long time, everyone looks like they understand that. If you’re going to build something, you first need a solid foundation, and MON is doing exactly that. We’re not the finished article by any stretch of the imagination, but you can definitely see those foundations starting to take shape. Top stuff, keep it up.

We really need better attacking options for him from the bench though

10* Best Stoke performance for a long time, beautifully orchestrated by MMO'N
And he fully deserves his middle name and his apostrophe!

9.8*
Good first half, better second
Great subs
Cohesion is fantastic Butland ran to half-way to hug Smith after the second goal
In play tactics to break play up Bournemouth-esque
MON has made us hard to score against and hard to beat
I dont recall them winning one header in our goal area
Smith was brilliant
And to kill time on came Diouf much to my delight
Top banana

9 from me. I hope he gives them a bollocking for starting the game on the back foot. A better team than Swansea might have really punished us early on. But once we survived the first 20 minutes we looked increasingly comfortable and we went on to have a good second half and fully deserved the win. To be honest, with Campbell injured I couldn't see where the goals were coming from so we will need another lethal striker as competition before too long. But thankfully Clucas and MaClean obliged with goals - even though neither had a great game - goals apart.
Good to see we now have a side which is still looking for goals up to and beyond the 90 minute mark.

We really, really need to address both fullback positions, but credit to MON for at least organizing what he has to work with.

First 20 minutes was poor and i genuinely thought we would get our arses handed to us. We then got a foothold in the game and took it to them and finished the first half strongly. Second half started messy but we found our feet quickly to proceeded to dismantle, on paper, a good side, and made them look bog standard at best.
Thought Allen was excellent again.
The team looks like its finding its way forward under MON and, as mentioned elsewhere, i think we can push on.
Will be interesting to see how Johnson can force his way into the side now.

Smith was brilliant today. A couple of sloppy crosses but I swear I lost count of the balls he intercepted. A brilliant team performance but Smith was a standout for me.

First half all their progress seemed down his flank but he broke up a lot of play second half - good distribution and willing to attack I'd rather see a LWB in place rather than BMI, as much I like him at CB, as a main priority Perhaps MON can coach an improvement out of him in the meanwhile? 🤞

The work rate the lads put it again was first class. Never mind the next TP weve got the next fergie
