If what we`re hearing is correct, ie, the two Glasgow giants are looking to sign him, it really is a no-brainer for Tyrese whether we can offer him a bigger salary or not.
Take off your Red n White spectacles guys and get real - despite being in a pretty poor league, Celtic and Rangers are both far bigger clubs than Stoke and I would argue that was even the case when we were in the prem.
So unless I`m misreading the situation entirely, we can expect young Tyrese to join one of two Scottish giants on July 1st 2020, but, hopefully after he has scored enough goals to help keep us up this season.

Those clubs don't have remotely the same pull that they used to now, it's all about the Premier League and the fact is that the Championship is far closer to it than Scotland. Moving to Scotland now shows a lack of ambition imo, if he were to. Our biggest worry should be Championship rivals imo, healthier clubs in the same league.

No at Celtic he could expect to win the league, both cups and reach the Uefa cup knockout stage (3rd in champions league group) every year. If you don't want that as a footballer you are in the wrong job. Or Giannelli Imbula

I'm not totally convinced a championship club would be that interested in him since they would have to pay more than the £400,000 compensation quoted. I guess it depends what that figure would be for a club this side of the border. He's obviously talented but I would think for a club chasing promotion I'd be surprised if they looked at him as a starter. I think he will receive the best chance of 1st team football here judging by O'Neill's comments.

I think the fact the Michael has come out and said what he has today regarding Campbell im pretty confident that we will get him to sign a new contract. Doubt he be so open if talks were not going well.

If he stays and bangs in 15-20 goals for the next season or two he has an easy route to the Prem. Scotland is a graveyard for strikers - even Adam Rooney managed to score a hatful of top flight there but completely failed to make any impact in England. Even if he gets minutes, there is every chance Prem teams will just ignore him because it’s no better than being able to score goals in League 2.

There is no doubt young Campbell has the skills and physical qualities to be a good player. The potential is there and young players can improve very quickly and his last couple of appearances have thrilled fans who are desperate to see players that can have a real impact but there’s not enough evidence he is our saviour yet. If he goes though I ,for one, will be gutted as young players coming through should be the backbone of the team in the future.
It will be a tragedy if he goes and if it’s because the club have handled him badly then it seems another of the seemingly endless poor decisions that have dogged our club. However we don’t know the circumstances that have led to his reluctance to sign a new contract , not everything turns out how you want.
You need hope though and he is one we have at the moment.

Why would any young decent player want to play in Scotland the only decent Scottish lads play in England because the leagues up there are micky mouse. He is better off in the championship where the games are far more competitive Celtic and Rangers are massive clubs compared to us. Huge crowds, trophies guaranteed, better to be a big fish in a small pond....just ask Moritz ,he gets to see a lot of it from the bench 😊

www.skysports.com/football/news/11787/11907612/celtic-and-rangers-battling-to-sign-stokes-tyrese-campbellBoth Celtic and Rangers are interested in young Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell, with the Glasgow giants expected to go head-to-head in a battle for his signature, Sky Sports News can confirm. The 20-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and so is free to talk to other clubs now about a free transfer in five months time. Because of his age, Scottish clubs can sign Campbell for a much lower compensation fee - around £400,000 - compared to what his market value would be. Campbell - the son of former Everton striker Kevin Campbell - is also attracting interest from a number of English clubs, but they would have to pay a much higher fee in compensation than their Scottish rivals. It’s also possible that Campbell would go on loan for the remainder of this season, as Stoke look to recoup some money for the youngster.

The bigger question here is how have we not already made a decision on the player and either offered a contract / told him we won’t.
I understand biding our time but to be discussing a new contract less than six months before the current expires is madness.

I think MON confirmed a deal had been on the table for him for months but his motivating factor had been game time. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p07xz5d824 mins 35 secs in.....

CELTIC CLOSING IN ON KLIMALA CAPTURE
Polish striker Patryk Klimala has arrived at Parkhead to complete his move to Celtic.
The 21-year-old is reportedly set to sign a four-and-a-half-year deal to join Neil Lennon’s side for a fee of £3.5million.
Asked by STV before going into Celtic Park on Monday morning as to how he felt, Klimala said: “Good thanks. Yes, it is exciting”.
The former Poland youth international has scored seven goals in 17 appearances for Polish Ekstraklasa side Jagiellonia Bialystok.

www.footballinsider247.com/rangers-table-contract-offer-to-campbell/Rangers have tabled a Tyrese Campbell offer as they look to beat Premier League big guns and Celtic to his signature, Football Insider has learned.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Rangers have offered a long-term contract to Campbell as they explore various ways to entice him.
Steven Gerrard’s side would be keen on signing the England Under-20 forward either this month or in the summer.
