I thought we looked exactly what we are, a bottom four side.

I thought we looked exactly what we are, a bottom four side. Unfortunately it strongly appears your right still.. the more than the sum of its parts thought process seems flawed given where we stand and given our recent spending it makes me want to tear my hair out in frustration. What a waste of money. It's hard to think of a recent comparable fuck-up in the whole of English football tbh.. possibly West Ham or Everton, but at least they're still currently in The Premier League.

A 1-0 defeat in a game where we even had a late surge for a point allows the players to believe they've got the hang of it and with a slightly improved performance we can end up doing better in the next few games.
Had we gone all out for victory in the first half, we might easily have been 6-0 down after first 45 and then there wouldn't have been any morale boosting late surge. Morale would have dropped and would have been harder to pick up, it might easily have been followed by several poor results.
But now the players can approach the next games as winnable.
Whether it works only time can tell.

It was fucking wank. We were pathetic, again. I don't care that some players were tired, we're the 7th highest spenders in Europe. Not good enough by a long way. Are we really the 7th highest spenders on the continent? If so, that is a tragic stat.
