Love him or hate him he's the player that makes this team tick.If he's not harrying or pushing or holding in mid field we may as well forget it,when this happens, particularly when he's pushing further up field hes a real menace and we are a different proposition. Today he was fucked you could tell,as he was the second half against Sheff Wednesday.....for fucks sake either start him balls out or at realise when his engine is gone and replace him,its not rocketfuckingscience.

I thought he appeared to be more disciplined since Cousins came into the team but today he was full on headless chicken, pup chasing a balloon mode.

Did you notice Super Sam ( apart from his woeful effort into the side netting) at all? It would help if he occasionally followed the man he’s supposed to pick up?

He must not have had a kip for about four years then! Seriously we are at a time when he needs to perform, but it's winter and all he needs is a good hibernation! Not a great combo is it? That said, the little hobbits performances have got better since cousins does his positioning work.

That half chance into the side netting from a difficult angle on the 'wrong foot' on the wrong side from which he was supposed to be playing? Other than that I noticed Super Sam was head and and shoulders our best player. Now, going back to Allen's contribution today..............

First half non -existent, misplaced passes and total non tracking of ANY midfield runner. Wrong foot- what a joke, how many hours do these guys spend training to be able to kick with one foot? People jump on Butland for a supposed / actual mistake yet outfield players get away with being so talentless they can only use one foot? Jesus!]

Not his fault really. He’s another one who should have been benched.

The midfield was piss poor,Allen and Clucas totally anonymous.....I’ll give Allen the benefit of the doubt through working his bollocks off against Wednesday but Clucas has a tendency to go missing when the going gets tough.Needs to put a proper shift in.

Clucas was popping up in all areas of the pitch, he was head and and shoulders above every other Stoke player. That shushingate incident seems to have polarised a lot of views.

Why is it when a player gets criticised it is now labelled as abuse?
Not once has Allen been abused. He has been strongly criticised for poor performances and rightly so!

He does get himself in some very useful areas in the attacking third. Would be nice if he occasionally put a tackle in or got back and mucked in with a bit of defending though.

I haven't looked up the stats but I feel that he's spent 80% of his Stoke career in 'no-man's land'. He was always seems to be busy there though!

The guy has sweated blood for the cause .. no one will feel it more than he does. The club has fallen apart around him not because of him.

Allen is anything but a holding midfielder. Mainly because holding midfielders hold their position and have high levels of positional discipline which we know Joe lacks.

Although I'm no great Allen fan I do hope we can keep him as he is the player alongside Shawcross and McLean who doesn't give up when things go against us. The more players we have like that the more likely we are to save ourselves.
