lets start a poll shall we ?
particularly for those who are apoplexic over racism but its open to anyone who feels stronjgly on the issue .
while we're at it we can drop one of our own in it .
On the chopsticks thread i referred to a stokie sitting behind me at leeds who shouted F off you coon when summerfield was substituted by leeds .
Now i know my seat number , would you
a ) refer the matter to stoke , who should know roughly who was allocated the ticket on the seat behind me for them to investigate further ?
or
b) refer the matter to the police , which is what dianne slim abbott is doing re the tory donor
or
c) do nowt and potentially letting a racist get away with it
interested to know what you'd do ?

i've always thought that dianne fatty abbott was anti white . i can't call her a racist cos the term is only applicable to white people . Do you speak about all 70 year old women like this? Or just the non white ones?

isn't that implying that stoke should pay ?
ie tory supporter = tories should pay fine
stoke supporter = stoke city should pay fine ?

There would be no fine because under Tory rules he would not have said anything racist. If you Apologise and donate you cant EVER be racist.....

I'm not going to try and say she hasn't said stuff which can be interpreted as racist because she has. I think what she receives throughout her career is 10x worse though. I like to think she poorly words some of her comments and they come across racist but I don't think she's racist herself. Either way two wrongs don't make a right and I think given her age that some are really harsh on her.

The only thing about that post that actually did make me interested, was how you felt the need to censor one of the words the stokie said, yet seem to be perfectly comfortable saying one of the others....i'm pretty sure that most would have done their censoring the other way around on a public forum, but maybe that's just me.
Interesting post, indeed.

if i said f off you c you might have thought it was c*nt , or c**k , but i accept your criticism.
everybody seems to want to take a pop at me but not the message , yet all seem to know what should be done with the tory donor . Hypocrites or too close to home ?

Hypocrites or too close to home ? In answer to your question, I'd do both a and b, as that's the right way to go about things. Although as a grown man, I wouldn't feel the need to throw stupid, incredibly childish and pathetic insults into the middle of someone's name everytime I use it....but again, maybe that's just me. And I also wouldn't equate being told to "fuck off" (irrespective of the racist insult used later in the phrase) with someone saying "she should be shot".....just me again?

I would report it to the club and/or Kick It Out as per the clubs advice on the matter: see here. The club can ban them from attending games and if they think the offence is serious enough they could report it to the police. What Hester said is way worse than what you witnessed - it included a threat of violence - and could fall under incitement to racial hatred. There also may be a case that it's a threat to Abbott's personal safety. So are you going to report them to the club?

If ever it was in any doubt we now know unambiguously. Racist rhetoric is a very low priority compared with cold hard cash.
As Rishi "I'll clean up the Party" man of morals, says no to returning the cash or even the donation of £15k for his helicopter ride.
When asked he replied: "No. And I am pleased that the gentleman is supporting a party that represents one of the most diverse governments in this country's history, led by this country's first British Asian prime minister."

On a debate largely centred around Diane Abbot, she stood 46 times to speak and Hoyle ignored her every time.
The bloke is fucking useless and if he had any decency he’d resign……..

It's the sort of archaic nonsense that makes one want to burn the place to the ground. “It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonoured by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice. Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government. Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.

It hardly ever gets to happen I've never seen it and I watch most weeks. The questions are picked prior randomly via computer, supplementary questions can be asked if the speaker choses one add that together with the tighter time frame now and it's not surprising she didn't get asked to put her question.

Its heartbreaking watching the video and you can see colleagues going to console her at the end. For a day which was largely about Diane, I find it deeply concerning that our courteous speaker who puts MP safety above convention didn't have her catch his eye once. Presume saying she should be shot isn't a form of intimidation or a risk for mp safety in the same way protesting against kids and women dying is.

Can we remember that just a couple of weeks ago, Hoyle went against precedent because he claimed that he was worried about the safety of MP's and then today, he ignores an MP who the biggest Tory party donor has said deserves to be shot! The HOC has been corrupted and it seems everybody is going to idly stand by and pretend it's not happening.

The speaker has history of breaking conventions though when mp safety is at risk. So surely being threatened to be shot would mean he'd ensure she gets a question. The only good thing to come out of this is it further shows that what happened in February was never about MP safety. It was about protecting Keir Starmer then and it is about protecting Keir Starmer again. And once more the tories don't even care either. Two cheeks...

I'm not disputing she should have been asked to put her question I was just giving an opinion or the reason as to why may be she hadn't. Edit: what should have happened was that the others also standing should have stopped leaving her the only one then it would have been impossible not to pick her but both sides of the house continued to stand at every opportunity.
