Tesco in Ilminster, Somerset was pretty quiet at about 8.30 this morning with no sign of any Black Friday surge in business. Mind you, it didn't seem to have stopped them from running out of all sorts of fruit and veg just in time for the weekend
Marsh Mills Retail Park in Plymouth was gridlocked earlier because of the volume of traffic and a fucked up temporary 4 way traffic light system installed by BT while they did some upgrades. Some were stuck for nearly 2 hours. Will be interesting to see if any parking fines issued as there is a 2 hour maximum wait on the car park.
Saw lady I know earlier, who proudly told me took 1-2 hours to get out of Cheshire oaks today, as it’s her “Xmas tradition” to go there every Black Friday with her brother and mum. WTF springs to mind, how the hell is that a Christmas tradition?!
We went to Cheshire Oaks on Thursday last week - we got there just before 10.00 when it opens and by about 11.30 it was absolutely packed. We stuck it for about another hour but it was wall to wall people so we eventually gave up and we were back in the car before 12.30. The traffic getting out was okay but they were queueing to get in all the way from the M53.
