The Menezes reference is irrelevant. I heard on the radio the police in the UK have their rules to follow, meaning to shoot a person with a bomb vest. In Sweden the rules are a bit different. Bath is also irrelevant. đ¤Łđđ

I don't particularly like Yvette Cooper in that she strikes me as a typical career politician who always thinks that she . above all else. knows best......But in this tweet / s she asks all the right questions......unfortunately If Labour were in power I'm not sure that the situation in respect of terrorism would be any better......it is easy to ask the questions if you are not in power. I think they should at least wait until Monday to start doing this sort of thing. Wasn't this policy something that the lib dems wanted, and it's also got the ECJ all over it?

I've not read the whole thread.. Are you seriously suggesting that those police officers yesterday were out of order? Iâm sure that they have a V rigorous policy of what to do under those circumstances, but donât you think that he would have detonated a bomb whilst being attacked if he had one. It doesnât matter to me whether heâs dead or alive. Coppers are just people. In my opinion the only mistake the police officers made was wasting another bullet that they could have saved for one of that cunts mates when they inevitably strike again. One headshot is all it required.

According to a tweet....... Usman Khan was convicted of plotting to blow up the Stock Exchange. Five of his convicted accomplices are also now on parole. Mo Chowdhury - RELEASED Shah Rahman - RELEASED Gurukanth Desai - RELEASED Omar Latif - RELEASED Nazam Hussain - Release 2020 Mohibur Rahman - RELEASED pbs.twimg.com/media/EKm5qvjWsAA1Bzb?format=jpg&name=smallAm I right in understanding that being released on license means the probation service are involved and the offender is provided with a home by the service? I wonder how many of the good people of Stafford knew this lunatic was amongst them? It beggers belief as to how bad it will be when the IS lot come back "home" to be dealt with by the British justice system.

Unfortunately nothing can or will be done because of the bleeding heart brigade. Thereâs probably not much that can be done now, the toothpaste is out of the tube, our foreign policy coupled with domestic immigration policy has left us a sitting duck for this type of thing, whoever thought mixing so many religions and cultures altogether on a little island was a good idea ? To be absolutely fair to the various religions in England which ones are causing problems?

Not clear how this will effect the election, I know itâs distasteful but it inevitably will one way or another. This could hurt the Tories if weak sentencing is the reason for him walking the street, hence why Johnson got his message out about stronger sentencing before the accusations started flying, but then Corbyn is seen as somewhat soft on terrorists, so who knows.

Weâre suffering the consequences of decisions that were made years ago by people no longer in power, the dye is cast. We have a large Muslim population here, but you canât hold them all responsible for a handful of them, any real law enforcement crackdown on Muslims will play right into the jihadis narrative. There appears to be no good solution to this.

shame he was wearing dummy explosives so the officer had to shoot to kill, I've never been a fan of shoot to kill, far better a shot into the bollocks and leave them unattended for a while... if that were the policy most blokes would think twice.

It's got to start somewhere because we can't keep having politicians from all parties preaching unity against the backdrop of either importing terrorists or even worse raising the home grown variety. The criminal justice system needs to treat them differently than other criminals.

Absolutely, but there are people who wonât allow that discussion to happen without crying âislamophobeâ which is baffling as they used to be the ones who railed against religion, but when it comes to Islam itâs off limits.

The religion of peace my arse, it's an outdated religion from the dark ages been practised in the 21st Century, it is not compatible with western values and never will be if it is taken as it is preached. It'd like the old testament but has never been updated to reflect modern day living saying that not all Muslims are to blame it's the hard core that need routing out of society and eradicating.

For a long time Iâve thought the following;
I would introduce a licencing system for religion. To obtain a licence 5 people would have to put their names forward to be PERSONALLY responsible for the activities of the religionâŚno limited liability, but subject to imprisonment/other punishment depending upon the infringement. Ultimate penalty , loss of licence to practice. The idea being that the communities/religions should be wholly responsible and it would be in their interest to keep their house in order. The licence would require conditions and be subject to a code of conduct. 1 Any activity or preaching, written or verbal pronouncements deemed to promote hatred, violence, death or harm to another person or group would result in a breach 2 Anything deemed directly against the interests of the country would be a breach 3 The religion/ meeting place would be subject to inspection ( carried out on the basis of necessity..eg if there has been an evidential complaint) 4 Acceptance of the overseeing bodyâs unappealable decisions ( without recourse to the ECHRâŚ..strictly speaking not legally possible in todayâs legal system) 5 Have available any preaching from a pulpit or given to members as a group for inspection in English A group of perhaps 15/20 could be set up to oversee the licences/ monitor/ listen to evidence and administer appropriate advice/ punishment / actionâŚdrawn from the organisations AND a Government minister of the dayâŚ..clearly if the breach was such that it involved the law/criminal penalty the overseeing body or others would have to pursue that through the courts. Definitions about what constituted â religionâ, âhatredâ etc could be decided and evolved through the overseeing body. How it would work: Eg 5 people at the top of the Church of England would sign up to get the entire C of E registered âŚthen they would be responsible for what happens in their churchesâŚ.how they ensure that is up to them. Smaller concerns would have to register in their own right. Every peace loving religious practice should welcome this , in theory it should have no or very little impact upon their practice. Obviously, holes can be put in it but Iâd prefer to have a go at something rather than do nothingâŚ.and improve the system as things move forward.
Personally I'm against the idea of regulation, monitoring as far as we possibly can......but perhaps we need to in some instances......we have school inspections, building inspections and regulations, electricity standards etc etc Any suggestions for improvements?

Possibly but Iâm not sure privatisation the probation boards which the Conservatives have done was a good idea, even though high risk prisoners probation boards are under state control, you donât really know what is classified as low and medium risk. It doesnât sit well with me having unaccountable private companies in charge of these matters. The Chief inspector of probation has found them to be incredibly flawed: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-47728948The comments on the lack of protection for victims of domestic abuse including children is particularly concerning.

Itâs fuckin evil and backward and it has to be banned in this country but we have to many do gooders! how would that even be implemented though ? Youâd have to deport all Muslims or turn the country into a police state, how can you stop someone believing something ? A Better answer is to allow a full and robust debate about Islam, nothing off limits.
