Just had a long chat with him on a train, came across as a thoroughly decent bloke, and despite all the vitriolic hatred some fans hurled his way still has fond memories of his tenure at our club.
Books and covers come to mind... Had a job to do, didn't always get it right, but certainly didn't deserve the tirade of hatred and even death threats that came his way.
He often reads the Oatcake, so if you are Jez, Good luck at Burton.

Just looked him up on wiki and he's only 56.
I had him picked for mid 70's at least.
Must be mixing him up with Dudley Kernick.
NB Just worked out he became our Chief Executive aged only 32, his American wife is called Babette.

Got the new stadium done and I think he was used as an escape goat when the likes of Sheron were sold to fund it.

Jez Moxey was appointed CEO at Burton in the summer of 2017. Burton were relegated from the Championship in May 2018. Just saying like.

Glad they've moved on from that kind of thing.

Hmm,
Did the stadium on the cheap, was involved in some shite decisions and was pretty arrogant when I did a radio interview along with him before the Kamara Bradford win.

Another CEO type that was employed by our current owners.
I don't know how they keep getting so unlucky with their choices.

Thoroughly decent and professional person who just did what he was told, and did it well. Met him on a few occasions with a mutual friend and he is not the bad guy he is painted out to be. Was a very good basketball player in his day (little known fact)

I speak to Jez Moxey on a monthly basis through the course of my work and, as I've posted on here previously, the way in which he's viewed by our fanbase is not entirely deserved. There are a lot of stories from that era that I've been party to from both Mr Moxey, a former director from that time, and a former chairman that would suggest that JM is not the character he's often painted as.

He had no affinity or consideration for the supporters. Personal experience.....yes. The threat of a solicitor to act on my behalf saw a retraction and apology. Glad you enjoyed your conversation with him.

Got the new stadium done and I think he was used as an escape goat when the likes of Sheron were sold to fund it. At the time Ted Smith was seen as one of the drivers behind the stadium becoming reality. He’s now air brushed out of Stoke history. I believe also, that Lou Macari had a poor relationship with him.
