This guy deserves credit for being one of our best players this season, amongst a massive dross of shit. A few on here have given him quite a bit of criticism, but that critique is massively misplaced. He's a very decent footballer. He's consistently performed at a high level and let's not forget, he is our top goalscorer for the season. The quality of his goals yesterday was absolutely top drawer. If we stay up this season, you can be sure he will play a massive part. Long live Sammy Clucas.

I've been a critic of his but he's been arguably our best player this season. I do feel he should be doing better though and putting in yesterday's performances on a regular basis.

I never got it. Even when fans were having a dig at him he was the only one chipping in with goals.

Never been a fan but if he keeps up the performance levels of the last few games heâll soon win me over.

I rate him. I accept he can appear to have a touch of the Joe Allen headless chicken routine about him as he works hard and runs around an awful lot, which means his positioning can be suspect, but he has a bit of quality in the final third, is athletic, his set piece delivery is excellent and he has the useful knack of being able to score a goal or two.

Some can't see beyond his finger to the lips antics, no matter how well he plays or how many he scores. Easily the best player so far.

I couldnât stand him but he has been a shining light in a sea of shit this season, fair play to him, those goals were plucked from the very top drawer.
Our most influential player at the moment, he simply has to play.

I've said on a number of occasions to the lads I travel with that he has become a bit of a pariah with a number of fans but he has always scored big goals in big games. And does have undoubted quality when played in his strongest position.

We've squished millions on dross, Clucas actually looks like money well spent. I started a thread months ago suggesting he was a very decent footballer but wasn't accepted because of 'shushingate'. Probably not the most likeable player in our history but certainly one of our best at the moment.

Heâs playing reasonably well but he doesnât help himself with the fans does he? Cupping his hand to his ear again after his second goal yesterday was unnecessary.

certainly a bloke who can change a game and knows where the goal is. Also nice to see we can score a penalty too. Thank you Lee

Has played well, along with Gregory, regardless of manager or system used. He's been our most improved player overall and by far and away our best midfielder.
Bit disappointed in the goal celebration yesterday, cupping his ear, although it's better than a shush*
*I'm kidding before anyone starts...

Depends how you interpret it though doesn't it? Same as his finger shushing gesture against Leeds. Itâs like heâs trying to fight a battle with the fans that heâll never win...unnecessary and takes the gloss off a good performance and two brilliant goals.

Depends how you interpret it though doesn't it? Only he'll know what he meant by it but it's usually done to opposition fans who've been giving a player stick,Vardy being a prime example,he gets dogs abuse and responds with an ear cup when he scores

My problem with him is that on occasion he can look so bloody anonymous.
You can't brilliant every game I accept that but when he's not on top form his work rate descends rapidly which just isn't good enough

I actually think that was a gesture of go on then fucking give it some racket lads. Certainly didnât look anything more than that to me, and I was highly critical of his shushing fun and games.

I think he needs to chill out a bit, not the cupping of the ear thing but he gets frustrated very easily over nothing and it seems to affect him in games, but it does seem now his injury is behind him he's showing more of what he can do this season.

Heâs been excellent at times this season and better than most pretty much every game.
For me he still needs to improve his decision making at times. Heâs shown some really poor judgment at times in a Stoke shirt, namely: - Shushing the crowd v Leeds - That red card against QPR - Flying into a tackle he had no chance of winning to give away a penalty v Shrewsbury
Although to be fair all those were last season.

He played very well yesterday, but just watch how often he lets his man run off him and consequently there is always a spare man in the box- look at the goals we have conceded where midfielderâs drift by him as if he wasnât there. QPRâs second goal led to Collins being slaughtered but Clucas had ambled alongside Eze for 30 yards without attempting a tackle. A goal scoring midfielder has to be part of any team, so I take my hat off to him for that- if he can keep scoring, fair enough - but being our best player in what has been an abysmal start to the season doesnât amount to much. More of yesterdayâs performances, then fine, he deserves plaudits- given that we didnât bother with awards in our relegation season from the Prem. I canât get excited about POY awards when we are still more likely to go down than stay up- we need more of yesterdayâs results before this latest win can be taken as signifying â the times they are aâchangingâ.

Actually think he's one of the ones who knows how badly they've let the fans down and he was trying to celebrate with the fans yesterday to build bridges.

Think that was done on purpose and not has a statement of any kind, sometime's i think player's get carried away with there celebrations, i mean look at Rat face at Leicester he just does it without thinking.
