Starts tonight. Enjoyed the books not so much the film. I find Ruth Wilson very confusing to look at. She has the power to scare and arouse me at the same time... not really a review of the show but thought I'd share.

The thought of the General aroused was enough to scare me !! The General is often aroused, a blessing and a curse I'm afraid.

It's a great part for an actress with talent to play. Looks like they've gone along with the Nicole Kidman interpretation from the film.

Gave it a go but gave up to be honest. Felt a bit Narnia-ish.

With all the hype i gave it a watch. I doubt i am its target audience thus will probably give it a miss the animal bits which obviously is a central part was annoying.
Like General Faye, Ruth Wilson is the fine line between the two extremes of attractiveness. In Luther she was great and her character will be a major part of this series.

There was a very interesting hour long interview with him on BBC4 in which he discussed the animals stating that it was a device to enable dialogue with the characters. The other thing which had never occurred to me was making a child into an orphan freed them from parental control allowing them a free reign. His discussions on his atheism were enlightening.
