I did my first spot of Freecycling today. I gave away an old mountain bike today on the Stafford Freecycle group.
Was just wondering if anyone else here participates in the recycling of free stuff. Any good finds? When I was in Cardiff one of my friends managed to get a typewriter from the WWII era, it was lovely.

I was a member but unsubscribed after about three months.
I got shot of a few things that I could've probably sold if I'd a mind to but hey! it seemed like a cool idea.
However, as stated previously, there are some real scrounging bastards on there and whenever I emailed about anything I could have used myself.. it had usually been snapped up, almost the minute it was offered up.. probably by ebayers and car booters making a few bucks out of someone else's generosity...

my girlfriend loves it, she offered her collection of plastic frogs and dream catchers, within 10 minutes a 35 year old bloke was on his way round to get them.

I love freecycle, but the stoke one has turned into a site for bickering between mods and group owners, not to mention someone trying to set up a zillion other "related" groups.
The free2sell group is good, but all the others popping up are just a pain in the arse.
