I imagine Hughton has one eye on Tottenham - has coached there and played there and they're struggling by their standards There's more chance of me riding Charlize Theron bear-back around the Stoke one way system than Chris Hughton getting the Spurs job. Ha made me chortle that I agree - see my response to Rawli - all a fiction based on speculation drawn out of boredom as nothing has happened for eons! 😎

History suggests that it will. Look at Huddersfield, back to back wins now for them with only 3 played -still waiting for ours 9 months later. In our recent case history suggests the exact opposite and in fact the statistical analysis done on the effect of changing managers shows that it makes very little difference - the important issues are the quality of the squad and the stability and wealth of the owners. Some clubs do better (like Huddersfield at the moment), some do worse and for other it makes no real difference. The idea that changing the manager will save our season is just wishful thinking and the call to change ours because it's suddenly become fashionable is even more ridiculous. So back to my original question - what makes you think changing the manager will save our season? Nobody is calling for us to change ours because of fashion, it's because statistically he is one of the worst ever managers presiding over one of the worst runs in our history - suggesting it is anything other than that is ridiculous.

Err yes they are - my original post was in reply to someone saying we needed to change our manager precisely because other teams were changing their manager. Jones's record is bad - but that has absolutely no more impact on the next one being any better than the fact he's Welsh. I'll try again... what makes you think changing the manager will save our season? All I'm hearing is a combination of wishful thinking and completely irrelevant "facts". Nobody has given a rational explanation - it's all bluff and bluster. I'm genuinely interested.

The right man could improve our play in both boxes which has been our let down so many times this season. Despite the win at Swansea NJ only managed his 4th league win in around 30 games. The stats are really poor and I really can't think of any club holding on to a manager with such stats. To change a manager is always a risk, but in this case I bet anyone we will swap NJ with will have better stats after almost 30 games. I actually don't think anybody but a fool would bet against that. I'm not calling you a fool by the way if you think it was aimed at you.

Spinksy seems to be surmising he may now have a little cluster of three games before entering a new possible sack zone - but it's obviously all fluid and totally incomprehensible - and after Huddersfield, who the hell knows anymore?

Three games? FFS. We don’t have the luxury of three games. He HAS to get results in one game at a time such is our state at present. Once he’s got us out of the relegation zone and some, then he can have the benefit of three games at a time.

There probably wouldn't be too difficult to replace him, but as said earlier I want an experienced manager who knows what this division is all about. A lot of potential targets have already been mentioned, and I really doubt anybody has been offered the job so far.

But we have little or no chance of getting,Moyes, Hughton Allardyce et al or they'd have been here the day after Huddersfield of that I'm certain. So we'd end up with some cheapskate younger manager on the up like.......erm........Nathan Jones. Frying pan and fire. I'm all for getting rid if we're going to bring in someone better.

No offence taken Another manager might do better than Jones - but equally they might not. We've gone backwards under Jones because he's drastically changed the style of play and made major changes to the squad - but he's also been massively let down by the players. A new manager will inherit exactly the same players - and if he changes the style of play yet again we will go backwards before we go forwards. I'm genuinely in two minds whether Jones is the man for the job. What I have a problem with is posters who have this blind faith that changing the manager will turn our season around. There is a strong possibility it won't - but so many posters wont have it even though our own recent history proves my point.

This because of our financial backing, size of the club and patient owners as well. I really think this club must be a better option than most clubs where Hughton will be offered the job.

I think the board need to be ready & waiting if we have a bad run in the next 3 matches. There is then a 9 day gap to West Brom and they must have somebody to come in straight away & not dilly & dally.

So it is fair to assume we're not perhaps such an attractive proposition for a manager still harbouring ambition to work in the Premier League. That leaves us with the next tier managers list in which I would have included Lambert, Rowett and Jones. The point I was making was that if we're not getting an upgrade what is the point of taking another punt now on another relatively unproven manager when we could give Jones at least until the next International break to see if Swansea was the beginning of the revival or just a blip.

They want sack him after Saturday by keeping him own the have vowed to give him more time, not one game, they will probably say that fulham are a tough team and wouldn't get carried away if we dont get anything(utter bolocks especially as weve just beaten a so called top team). They will look at this little phase of games and be a little bit further down the line of having to make a decision and think of replacements.

McClean might be a nice charitable guy, he certainly tries harder than most but mother of god he never has been nor never will be a left back. He’s a disaster there, full stop. Jones should have been sacked weeks ago.

This is exactly the reason why I would like to replace Jones ASAP if a manager like Hughton, Moyes or Allardyce would take us on.
