What would be the actual cost of getting rid of Jones and his backroom staff? Could Stoke really afford it?

I think, along with the owners lack of plan and foresight, that finances would now have a huge bearing on who we brought in.
There's only so much money in the pot now.
What a mess.

I suspect we are still effectively paying Hughes, Lambert and Rowett (+ assorted backroomers), so there might be a case for not doing it. TBH, if 4 supposedly decent managers can generate any sort of improvement then it points to the problem not being the manager.

Wouldn’t it be more expensive to have to buy a whole new squad in six months because our current manager can’t get anything out of the 3 he has (Premier League old boys, Rowett boys, the 11 players he bought)?

Hughes if i am correct would have ceased to be payed by Stoke when he took the Southampton job.

Fair point, I guess it depends if we gave him a cheque representing a decent %age of rest of his contract, or just carried on with usual weekly pay packet until he found some other poor desperate chairman
