Looks like a tennis score but these results really did happen against Leeds,Mervyn Day's pre-match comments before the 7-2 game are priceless.Seen loads of Stoke V Leeds games over the years but these 2 always stand out but for some strange reason so does a Gordon Strachan free-kick goal over Foxy who protested over the taking of it.Stoke V Leeds is a great game.

The older generation will recall the 3-2 to break there run.Other memories include our 0-4 win at Elland Road,Chapman's hat-rick also at Elland Road. Played for both clubs, Kamara but my favourite has to be Peter Hampton. Looking forward to this game, thinking a 2-0 home win.

I missed the 6-2 as I was on holiday and remember Mervyn Day saying before the second game we definitely won't concede 6 I think they knew they would when Lee Dixon scored an overhead kick to make it 3-0 inside 30 mins . I think Mervyn Day also made a couple of great saves in the first half to keep it down to 5. He must have loved the Vic as he also let 5 in for Wet Sham shortly after joining them for a then record £540k and the ground reverberated to chants of what a waste of money!!

That was Phil Parkes mate and the game was the 2-0 victory in the promotion season under Alan Durban. We beat West Ham 5-2 in 1982, but Mervyn Day had long departed them by then.

Was one of these games on a Saturday or Sunday dinner time? The 6-2 was August Bank Holiday Monday and the 7-2 was the Sunday before Christmas.

I remember a 4-0 caning where the best save made was by cliff Carr and the ref missed it! I remember that game as being the 1st time we sang Delilah in full voice, with a good following. A Copper asked me why we were singing it and I didn't have a clue!

Is Lee Chapman's(my hero of the time) hat-rick the only 3 goal haul from a Stoke City player in a top flight game away from home? 14th Feb 1981.

Great memories there, When the Mick Mills era was showing real promise too. That December of 1986 was a great time to be a Stoke fan.
Really enjoyed the 4-0 away victory against Leeds in 2006 aswell. A great performance with some quality goals & was an awesome atmosphere in the away end that day. This was one of those games that started our revival & hauled us the table after a terrible start.
More of the same for tomorrow would be nice.

Also wasn't the 6-2 one of Mark Chamberlains last game for us? He was as good that day as the day he gave Kenny Sansom the reason to drink heavily.

Not sure if it was one of those games but do remmeber Kammy slicing Chris Whyte in half with a two footer and not even getting booked. Straight off after that one.

I went to both games too and the 3-2 which ended their unbeaten run.
We always did well against dirty cheating Leeds.
Remember going into the Stoke End from the Boothen before the end of the game but that's another story.

This was before the 1970 World Cup in Mexico and the Leeds fans were singing ‘’ Send our team to Mexico’’ whilst the Boothen end was singing ‘’Send our team to Vietnam’’ which was raging at the time. Happy Days!
