It’s now 2-0, but TV has been subbed off at half time.

Why have we spent fifty pages debating the potential of a guy who's now left? Hadn't Bayern suffered enough !

It’s now 2-0, but TV has been subbed off at half time. Didn’t want to go too hard on the other side? Is that his second start this year? No it’s the first time he’s started a game for them. At least it means that he’s now played more minutes for his new club than he has for us this season. It’s a shame he was so petulant and impatient, the way things have gone he would almost certainly have started plenty of games for us this season.

He needs to read this forum to understand how incredible Verlinden is! He’d have to cos he barely played first team football for us. Suppose they could look at his goal per 3 game contribution in league one...

Hmm. A 1-yr deal at a Slovakian club. Not exactly a step-up. Wonder what's gone on there? www.fortunasittard.nl/thibaud-verlinden-vertrekt-naar-slowaaks-dac-1904/THIBAUD VERLINDEN LEAVES FOR SLOVAKIAN CLUB DAC 1904Thibaud Verlinden has left Fortuna Sittard for a new adventure in Slovakia. The attacker has signed a contract with DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda, playing at the highest level. Unlike in the Netherlands, the transfer market in Slovakia is still open. The 22-year-old Belgian only played in the yellow and green of Fortuna Sittard for six months. The former youth international was taken over from Stoke City in January. In total, Verlinden made six appearances for the Sittard formation.

Not going well for Verlinden A very overrated player by some individuals on this board! I must admit when I started this thread over 2 years ago I thought we had a real player on our hands but obviously I was wrong on that front. His career has really taken a backward step for sure

Not going well for Verlinden A very overrated player by some individuals on this board! Another player who wasted a promising career because he thought he was too good to be sitting on the bench at Stoke.

It's all gone a bit Florent Cuvelier and Julien Ngoy.
Shame, as all three certainly had talent.
Wonder how much his injuries played a part just when he was beginning to fire, at key stages.

He got a cruciate injury at just the point he was starting to get minutes in the first team so do feel for him. Horrible injury for a winger. He’s still young so hopefully he can get his career back on track as there was definitely a player in there.

Not going well for Verlinden Well it was sacrilege that he never given the chance to properly play for us and it just goes to show we made such an error as he’s now moved on to the dizzying heights his career deserved. So where on earth is this super metropolitan euro city that’s called DAC then? I hope as part of the welcome pack, our u23s get a warning that if Bayern on the Oaty chooses you to be his seasons excuse of “it’s an outrage the manager refuses to play this lad” then it’s basically the kiss of death to your career!

Even then the manager would say that he had very glaring deficiencies in his game. It’s a shame that he got injured when he did, as his career could have been very different with us. I’d be amazed if he managed to get back to a decent level now.

What a talent he was. Pathetic that he didn't get more games here. If he had I'm sure his stats would have gone up like they do on Football Manager and he'd have won the Ballon D'or by now.
Awful, cowardly management.

If I worked in the media I’d like to think I had a bit more originality than resorting to the most overused cliche in football. I quite like the fact that that cliche, as well as our reputation as a tough aggressive team from the early Prem years gives our club a degree of notoriety abroad that’s probably greater than our achievements deserve. I feel like we have a stronger “brand identity” than most clubs our size, even if that identity is based on decade old stereotypes.
