Chris Hughton wouldn't come here. Neither would Moyes. Martin O'Neill, come on down. He turned us down last time, didnt he ? He almost took the job but something spooked him at the 11th hour, if I recall ? Big Sam doing the co-commentary on talksport tonight. Listen out see if he’s makes any noises about returning to management, people can scoff but he’d suit stoke down to the ground and reestablish an identity.

Could do with Steve Bruce getting the sack at Newcastle tbh. At least he knows what he's doing at this level.

Wasn't one of the conditions of Hughes coming here that he had to drop all ties with Joorabchian? Though I think Monk as a manager is in the running, the club won't fuck around with this agent lark unless he agrees to sever ties like Hughes did.

TP just back from Corsica, attending a Napoleon celebration/convention.
Will now be chomping at the bit to bring his own brand of narcissism to some poor club.

Pugs the longer this situation goes on the bigger the chance of the capped one returning as we all know.It would split the fans straight down the middle again

Will they sack jones tonight ?
Seems little point in prolonging the inevitable, he’s not going to turn this around now, we’ll just keep losing and leaking goals game after game.
Jones out, stick Hart in temporary charge for the Leeds cup game and get a replacement in by Saturday.

Where is the Fuller or Sidibe equivalent, or even a Delap or Lawrence? This lot don't look capable of grinding out a 1-0.

What about Cowley?
Rightly or wrongly, just got a suspicion they'll go for something very un-Jones-like, which means we won't be considering anyone of his ilk, and focus on experience

Monk did a fantastic job at Brum and would appeal.
However, apparantly he does far better when he has his Spanish assistant with him (clotet) Given he is now Brum manager he wouldn't come with him.
When monk was at Boro he didn't have clotet and was poor

As I've said before FM, can see the appeal of Cowley to the board potentially but I just think we need someone in the Hughton or Moyes mould right now. Would be very un-Jones like though agreed!

Nigel Pearson with John Terry as his enforcer.
Would certainly instil a bit of discipline amongst the players.
With any luck, they might get an occasional beating for poor performances.

To be fair some of these players would be his type, ie Gregory would be nailed on to play the cresswell roll out wide. Vokes would likely feature more.

Yeah - I agree, Chig. I do think they'll go for someone who's been several times round the block, on the rebound from the Jones experiment Of course, Hughton aside ,there's not exactly a long list of such names assuming Moyes is a non-starter!

Jones in his interview even had the noises of shrugging his shoulders. When he sound like that in an interview I think he knows himself the writing is on the wall.
Hopefully the incompetent board realise this!

I agree Nathan looks like a dead man walking but we need to have a replacement lined up, and don't even think about TP.

I think it needs to be someone out of work...no-one with a club would be daft enough to take on Sunderland II.
Hughton is the stand out pick by a mile.
No way Moyes or Allardyce would want the job.

If they pull the trigger in the next month or so I’d be staggered if it was anyone other than Hughton.
