I was a big fan of his.
Funnily enough I was looking at the statue of him in Dublin this time last week.

It looked like it had been made by the same person who did the Cristiano Ronaldo / Rick Astley statue at Madeira airport.

I saw Thin Lizzy at Bingley Hall and Trentham Gardens within the space of about two weeks when they were on the "Black Rose" tour - brilliant !
I still listen to Live and Dangerous from time to time as well.

BSR are worth a listen for any Thin Lizzy fans, closest I'll get to seeing the original anyway.
Here's a couple of their own tracks. They are outstanding live:

Was he married to Leslie Crowthers Daughter, or have I made that up. He was indeed, had separated from her and when he got ill, she took him to a clinic for treatment and he died a week or so later. Phenomenal bass player and song writer, utterly charismatic performer, even when 3 sheets to the wind. If music biz ran like today and artists had breathing space between albums, maybe he’d have coped better, back then there was so much pressure for album/tour/album he was run ragged as the main songwriter . Even their “weaker” albums like Renegade have moments of brilliance. Was luck6 enough to see him a number of times , Lizzys last uk show at Reading fest, then he had his Grand Slam band for awhile, saw him off his trolley jamming with Motörhead at their 10th anniversary Hammersmith show in 85, then finally when he joined Gary Moore onstage at Hammersmith late that year. And mere months later he was gone, best advert for never taking heroin there is IMO. I’d like to go to Dublin and see statue actually. Black star Riders are ok, Gorham and Ricky Warwick do the old ones justice.
