last time i went to rhodes i tried to use my meastro card to withdraw cash and it didn't work.
Probably better off with a visa or mastercard but foreign charges can be astronomical.

stokie68, Yeh its ok to use cards in most of the restaurants in Pefkos but a ball-ache to try and get money out of a cashpoint... The one next to Nostalgia is near on "Always" empty! - theres another one down by Pefkos by Night but thats also always empty (think they only fill'em up twice a week or summat) Like I said, youll be alright using them to pay for food and stuff but you will get charged a - the exchange rate that the banks charge and b - a fee for using your card (unless you are with a bank that doesnt charge aka Nationwide) If you pop into The Rock Garden say "Hello" to Sam and Gianni's (and Yioda) from the chap from Stoke (also tell'em I aint seen them on msn for a while Lovely place, with lovely people and Pekos Lamb from Enigma and Beef Nostalgia from Nostalgia are wonderful dishes

Open an account with Nationwide. They dont charge you for using your card abroad this is very true i wish i was with them to be honest as i have had ballaches with virtually every bank and they're ridiculas charges. but being honest i have found the best thing to do is to take the £££ in cash you get far better rates, and no matter how big or small never exchange ££ for they're money in the uk you get hammered!!
