I wonder which ‘fan bases’ would be looking on the bright side if they had experienced the last few seasons that we have ? About 82 of the fanbases in England would know exactly how we feel. The other 10 know success at some point or level, the 82 don't. It's frustrating, but c'est la vie.

Being in the prem is success. We’ll get there again. The rest is just noise. If people can’t enjoy anything they’ve got a big problem. I don’t see it that way. There is as much suffering and discontent in the Premiership as in any league despite all the hype we are fed. It’s all relative. Fans just want to win games no matter who it is against. Euphoria is short lived, it’s disappeared by the next game. Players and Managers swing from Hero to Zero one week to the next and whatever level. I went for a drink with a Tottenham fan last night I wouldn’t describe him as happy, he was relieved but at the same time frustrated that his team were behind to Villa for so long of the game. All this seemed to do was to make him feel anxious i.e. negative about the rest of the season. He was annoyed and frustrated that they couldn’t beat Villa convincingly. He wasn’t happy or positive. He’s still depressed about the Champions League Final. I would describe him as a typical football supporter. It’s up to you if you enjoy something. Try it. This has nothing to do with football it’s unhappy people vs happy people.

Seriously wondering if there is a more negative fan base than scfc. Terminally miserable Do you honestly think that at the moment ( even if you forget the previous 23 games- half a season of Jones inspired insipidity) that losing to QPR at home and Charlton away conceding 5 and scoring 2 is something to be anything other than miserable about. Yes we played better yesterday and still had our arses spanked. There is a saying that good sides win when they play poorly, but I don’t know what the equivalent is for “good” sides that play well and lose?I would like to find something to be positive about but there is no shape, no cohesion to team selection, no fast pressing game to speak of, substitutions that usually take place after 70 minutes no matter what the state of the game and we are led to believe that our athletic squad falls to pieces at the first booing they hear- however they are incapable of scoring if you cheer them to the rafters. If anything that I have said comes over as being miserable, please just point out what I should be happy for, because I really would love to be. You watched a different game to me then because I thought we were excellent in the first half right from the very first whistle we played at a fast pace ( according to some we cant do that our players have no pace?) , we played pressing football, forwards even closing down the goalkeeper, the football was fluid pass and move. We nearly scored in the very first minute with a good cross by ward. We hit the bar, hit the post, smith hit shot straight down the keepers throat, gregory put right over from 6 yards.... that's just off the top of my head. We were unlucky, on another day we hit 5 during that game. What more can jones do when the keeper is trying his level best to get a move to kidsgrove afc? We're going to tonk some team very soon if we keep up them first half performances and when the new defence settles. That tonking could well turn the tide where we go on a long unbeaten run, with good football for good measure.

The issue of sacking managers wouldn't be there if the managers were producing decent, winning football. If our current form continues much longer then NJ's position will be under threat, and it won't be fans who'll be making the decision. You don't think all of us standing up and shouting, 'Gary Rowett your football is shit' had anything to do with it? We decided the timing of that sacking. I don't know what Coates privately thought, but we gave him no choice. That's not a criticism, I joined in very loudly. We hounded him out. We can now decide whether we do that again. I say at least give him a third of a season at least. That means trying to stay positive and getting behind the team for now. I reckon 80% of our fans are doing that, but the other 20% have already decided they want Jones out and/or do not care about results so long as they can vent. If he turns results and performances around, they won't be listened to.

By tonking do you mean by winning by 3 goals or more, or just winning? If you are up for it, I will give you at least the next 14 League games before we administer the “tonking “ so in total Nathan will have had 39 league games to show he’s on the right track ( and a third of the current season. Can’t say fairer than that?Tonking being a 3 goal margin win.

I have to admit that I am feeling very deflated after yesterday's result but then again I would fully expect the players are also feeling low. That is the time when everyone concerned has to pull together. All my experience tells me that we have a competitive squad capable of beating any team in the Championship. Contrary to many on this site I do believe we are improving. My major concern is that we have conceded five goals in our first two games against not the best two teams in the league. As we struggle to score three goals it seems we are destined for trouble. I still have faith in Nathan Jones but I want him to get to grips with the defending first and foremost. The spectacular goal scored by Ince yesterday can win games but only if we keep clean sheets! You have got to be mentally strong to be a Stoke supporter nowadays! When are some going to realise that you cannot just keep sacking your manager. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of stoke 'followers' dont know anything about football. You only have to go down the pub and talk to people, they cant even pronounce first team players names correctly half the time, talk to them about any another team and you had may aswell be talking about a foreign third division side because they know nothing about them. My conclusion is they dont see a bigger picture, they dont realise we have brought 10 players in and the problems that can bring with regards to starting the season fast. 2 games, 10 new players, 3 new players in defence yesterday and some want him gone. Clueless. How many new players did QPR, last week, and Charlton yesterday field? Just asking!

Charlton had one, a left back from Rotherham, otherwise our expensively assembled team were beaten 3-1 by their team which won promotion and has the lowest budget in the Championship. It doesn't really matter though. Teams up and down the country are fielding several new players this weekend. Some win, some draw, some lose. We do the latter and the excuses ring out.

Good enough for how Brentford judge players. Good enough for Tony bloom and Brentford owner Benham who both make millions betting using his own models that incorporate all of these stats. But this is being disputed by what I assume, is a grown man, wanting hughton to come in.

I was merely suggesting it’s subjective and not this stat that people hang their hats on. That’s all. I couldn’t give a monkeys about it. We deserved to lose the QPR fair and square and if anyone suggests otherwise to me then I can argue with them for an age.....
