But he did.  Obviously you’re listening to a different interview than I am. Clearly! He praised his abilities as a footballer and talked about how much he needs a change in scenery. He said that it's not the fault of Bojan or anybody else that he's not been in the team. He alluded to the amount of time that his good spell lasted but didn't want to elaborate further on things said in confidence. None of that screams out that it's anything to do with his ability as a player Let's be honest here, if he doesn't work out with a Spanish speaking manager who has a #10 as an integral part of his system, maybe it's not just the manager that needs to be thought about. |

Agree with Jones's thoughts on McLean at LB But he really can't defend, it's one hell of a gamble. He did say though he knows they have got to improve him at certain aspects. He wouldn't be doing it if he didn't think he was capable of it. I like how he hasn't just gone out and "spent more of the clubs money on players he doesn't feel will improve us" as he put it, " we could have but nobody "popped out", |

Stood up to a lot of hard questioning well.
As usual there were a lot of "When did you stop beating your wife?" questions, where a negative view can be placed on any answer.
He clearly struggles to give honest answers and not break confidences.
I think he has got the drive and commitment to turn things round and produce an attacking winning team, but like missing penalties it is going to take time to get it right. Rowett wilted under the pressure; I don't think Jones will. He will just keep battling no matter what happens. It took Farke 2 years to turn Norwich round and Wilder 3 years at Sheff Utd, but a lot of people expect him to do a Santo.
This pre-season has been a massive improvement on last summer's.
