Have I missed some news or something, is 'safe standing' now allowed? When are we getting this in the Boothen/South Stand?

We should follow suit, it has been like a morgue since we last beat Arsenal when Jesè scored.

So standing is illegal, but they've made an area with persistant standing safer by installing a barrier around the seats?
Now I'm all for it (Safe Standing areas) but they 'should' be making people sit. How now can they now enforce that?

"Safe" standing is a total misnomer, there's nothing unsafe about standing.

"Safe" standing is a total misnomer, there's nothing unsafe about standing. I agree but I'm sure they won't legally be alowed to lock the seats up. People will stand at the bar. If you want get out, will you have to walk along the seats behind them. I'm all for it, but it should just be made law that you can now stand, and have areas for it. This may well force the issue.

Where would they move me (and my season ticket) if the Boothen is made a standing area as per your suggestion...... and will my season ticket be the same price? I wonder what happens to the Wolves old fogies in the South Bank this season?

We should've done this in the new corner when building that, but we won't show initiative. Years behind.

Safe standing is a myth,we all stand at away games, most stand up in the South Stand at the back.If they put rail seats in it would still be one seat one person,so if you wanted a complete signing area you would all need to get your tickets together. The Wolves thing is a H/S thing put on them by the local council.

Compromise...giving the worst of both.
Rail seating makes sense if you want to go the "safe standing" route, but just putting rails in front of normal seats is crazy imho

I’m sick of hurting myself when standing up tbf
This will only encourage “lads” that think standing up is cool
What next? Fucking singing?

As for contactless payments, Wolves are introducing a bartering system for half time oatmeal and hard tack

I've been standing up for all sorts of things over the last 48 years including attending football games and never felt my safety was at risk.

It isn’t safe standing as we know it (with a rail seat). it’s normal seats with a barrier in front.
Plenty of grounds have this (Spurs new stadium, FC Koln I remember from a few years back)

Mr Stroller, I believe you should take a leaf from the old* guy who regularly used to stand near me and my mates in the old 'middle' Boothen end. Roll up steaming, hold himself up by the barrier , chain smoke Players for the 90 minutes, piss himself at half time and shout obscenities at the ref all match. Sorted GD *well i say old. He looked old to an impressionable 15 year old at the time. He was probably younger than I am now !

They should all be on the back row so absolutely nobody is denied a view whilst sitting behind the thoughtless minority!

Sorry to be thick but do you have a nominated standing spot you have to stick to behind your numbered piece of orange plastic?
If so it's better than nothing but full freedom it ain't!

I've been in touch with the club about this on numerous occasions as I believe fans deserve the choice to stand at football matches, simple as that.In the responses I've received from the club they've always stated to me that they are open minded about safe standing but until the government offically legalise it they can't do a thing. We are still waiting for the promised government review on this from the Conservative sports minister Mimms Davis but as always the silence is deafening. For me there will always be a percentage of fans who prefer to stand as that's just the way it is with football so why not let us standers have a designated area where we can stand (in safety) and not disrupt the folk who choose to sit, then everyone's happy. Remember we are not talking about a return to the old style terraces but think this would be reasonable safer compromise.

The half time piss is particularly gratifying, though the bloke in the next seat sometimes takes offense if the "overflow" is excessive.

The reason is that the government probably don't want it and in my view only a vocal minority do!
