Badou is better box to box as well, though he's more disciplined than Etebo. |

He's played there for this manager in this system in his Charlton youth days, which is eminently why he trusts him there. Whether he's right to do so or not remains to be seen, it's a role of the dice which is why we need another bona fide option there. |

Woods, Allen, Etebo can all play in that position Allen has shown he can't for anyone other than Wales, Woods isn't the destroyer we need and has looked off the pace for a while and Etebo would be wasted there, add to that its pretty clear Allen and Etebo are earmarked for the two midfield spots a DM is still needed. |

Really hope we are seriously in for this fella and not just adding 2+2 and getting 5 as per.
I really can't see why we wouldn't have wanted him from the off - and while I find £1.3m hard to believe, it's never going to be such big bucks that we would or should be scared off.

Damn. Well we should have known. It would be very unlike us to get a good player who is versatile and plays in a position we need at a cracking price. Why would we do that when we can get someone who doesn’t really play there on a free, then pay for an extra CB as well and make our most expensive signing of the season a position where we were already doing fine 😂. Good old Stoke!

Passing completion doesn’t mean much compared to the fact he’s the 3rd worst midfielder for losing the ball (through being tackled and bad passing) in the League. You don’t want that sitting in front of your flat back 4 never mind a back 4 with two fullbacks playing beyond halfway. |
