Did anyone go to either of the games last weekend? Brilliant experience - expensive on some of the food and drink and merch front, but well worth going. Very few football colours on display so hard to see if any Stokies were there!

50 runs over two games!?! Was that to do with the size of the field?

50 runs over two games!?! Was that to do with the size of the field? I read this elsewhere when someone asked a similar question... The infield (square) is a set size, but there isnβt a regulation as such for the outfield, but there is a rule that new parks built since 1958 need to have a minimum of 325ft to the left and right field boundaries, and 400ft to the centre. London Stadium was 330ft to the sides and 385ft to the centre, but Fenway Park for instance is 302/310/389, so similar (not that that helped the Red Sox!)

It was insane Sheikh. It was looking like the sort of silly score that I used to see when my lad played junior baseball a few years ago. Fully expected the "mercy rule" after one inning! DC - they showed some comparable field sizes on TV and Fenway is similar as you say. Could have been the warm air as well - physics and all that. The main factor I think was the distance from the foul line to the seating behind. Fielders were struggling to judge the catch because compared to a regular field, there was acres of space for the ball to fall into. That kept batters in for longer. Definitely worth a trip next year.

I suppose if Londoners get bored to death they'll stop stabbing each other π

I suppose if Londoners get bored to death they'll stop stabbing each other π A Judge was on hand to send them down though if the stabbings had carried on.
That's one for you American League fans out there. I'll get my coat.
