Is Ferdinand s good choice as the FA Lead Ambassador?
Rio's past misdemeanours seem be forgiven. He's been an absolute pro since his ban having attempted to avoid drug tess but is that enough to qualify him for the FA role. Surely an ambassador should be squeaky clean.
The announcement has come at an interesting time in the week after Michael Gove admitted taking Cocaine on several occasions.
Should either of these people be leaders in their fields?

He was a bit of a dick and it took tragedy to make him grow up. He seems like a changed man now and I hope he does well.

I’d rather it go to an ex-player than the fossilised old dicks they’ve got running the show now.

He did get a £45k fine for a racial slur as well but too much is made of the odd incident I agree. I bet even Mother Theresa had the odd peek at Eurotrash

Rio ? - Hes got a lot of laps around 'life's experience track' for one so young therefore, a good choice IMHO

If it wasn’t him would it be racist? It would be racist if those selecting displayed prejudice or discrimination towards any candidate due to their race or ethnicity.

Nobody is squeeky clean and forgiving people is necessary in civilised society. People can learn from mistakes and he’s been through hell as people have stated.

Has Ferdinand ever been convicted or has he ever admitted to drug use? He missed a drugs test which is surely very different for which he was heavily punished. There is no evidence to suggest whether he used illegal drugs as far as I am aware or maybe I missed something? That is of course separate to the question of whether it should be relevant anyway.
